I didn't find this article to be interesting at all. However, I did find it to be quite disingenuous. The writer hypothesizes that the NW crews are nasty because they'd been beaten down by mgmt for so long. But, instead of a long expose about the horrible NW flight attendants whose misery was a product of an onerous management, why wasn't some criticism directed to the very management that (as the writer contends) is at the root of what he saw as the NW flight attendants' insolence. Was this article written by a member of Delta management?

I guess you and I read different articles. The point he makes is culture matters. Culture is largely a reflection of management.

The first half of the article is just as applicable for identifying native AA flight attendants... the former TW FA's are far more grateful to have a job vs. taking out their attitude towards their relationship with the company on customers...

either way you look at it, it is not a good article for Delta. We are all one now.

As a die hard PMDL fam, let me be the first to say this article is a load of generalizations and anti-NW inuendo.

DL is made up of more previous cultures than probably just about any other major US airline - and they have embraced the cultural differences - not tried to extinguish them.

I can take the author of the article one step further and say I can recognize a PM Pan Am or a PM Western crew from the opposite end of an aircraft - but that is what makes DL, well, DL. I enjoy flying in the western US so I can see a different type of personality... I enjoy flying from JFK because, well, they are not, ATL... as much as ATL is predictable.

There might be some truth to the fact that NW people are the byproduct of the management they worked for... but continuing to remind them of where they came from does nothing to welcome them as part of the new, BLENDED, DL that they are.....

and, BTW, the best service I EVER have had on any flight was in Business Class on one of those crappy ex-PA 310s from JFK-TXL with a PM Pan Am FA. She was the epitome of class and style.

Way to perpetuate the divide and conquer mentality at DL, Dapoes.

Bravo. (golf clap)

Now, immediately report back to your FSM and tell them what a good job you've done.

Wow Kev, pot meet kettle? I would figure as much from the long time, #1 dump-on-all-things-DAL grinch.

Bravo Kev, Bravo.

(Yawn)

Trying to turn it around on me doesn't make you any less guilty of perpetuating the infighting.

The smug superiority you and others so enjoy will be the downfall of this airline.

More hypocrisy Kev? Really? Wow! I didn't write the article yet you blame me for the blistering content? Shoot the messenger much? Btw Kev, the infighting has always come one way... Why is that Kev?

Spare me the mock indignation; I'm not buying it for a second.

If I'm so off the mark, by all means explain what your intent in posting the link was.

Wow Kev, why is it only you have chosen to attack the poster of the article rather then comment on like the others?

Did I commit some unspoken, politically incorrect law that thou shall not speaketh (or reporteth) of NWA in a bad light or something???

Would your reaction differ if the content was directed at DAL? No, of course not, you would be beating that drum endlessly like you do in all the other threads.

But then again when you are a hammer, all you see is nails.

Histrionics are fun, but you didn't answer my question.

I'll ask again: What was your intent in posting the link to this article. Why do you feel it merits the attention of this board?

Why do feel it does not? Tsk tsk Kev I thought you had a thicker skin. Guess not.

Like I said if it was about DAL, you would have a field day.

Another brilliant non-answer.

One last time: What was your intent in posting this article?

Like I said if it was about DAL, you would have a field day.

Wrong again.

BTW, that's 2 gross errors in judgement in a row for you...
