Sunni cleric says Gaddafi should die

Doha - Influential Muslim cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi issued a fatwa on Monday that any Libyan soldier who can shoot and kill embattled leader Muammar Gaddafi should do so “to rid Libya of him”.

“Whoever in the Libyan army is able to shoot a bullet at Mr Gaddafi should do so,” Qaradawi, an Egyptian-born cleric who is usually based in Qatar, told Al Jazeera television.

He also called on Libyan ambassadors around the world to distance themselves from Gaddafi’s regime.
Qaradawi, 85, hosts a popular show on Al Jazeera satellite channel and has close ties with Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood

I think most rational people will see them for what they are. Some hate mongers who condemn the US yet can speak their minds. Can't help but see the irony in that, as will a lot of other people.

I believe I saw that Choudary character in a debate with an ex-radical on British TV. The ex-radical really put him on the spot.

Report: Troubling texts at Va. Islamic school

McLEAN, Va. — Textbooks at a private Islamic school in northern Virginia teach students that it is permissible for Muslims to kill adulterers and converts from Islam, according to a federal investigation released Wednesday.

Other passages in the school's textbooks state that "the Jews conspired against Islam and its people" and that Muslims are permitted to take the lives and property of those deemed "polytheists."

The passages were found in selected textbooks used during the 2007-08 school year by the Islamic Saudi Academy, which teaches 900 students in grades K-12 at two campuses in Alexandria and Fairfax and receives much of its funding from the Saudi government.
