There is no way they can honestly think they have a chance. Can't wait to read the headlines when pax report this PA on their flight:

"They came over the PA to let us know they were a bit short being able to pay the fuel bill. They needed to crowdfund the flight in order to raise the cash to purchase enough fuel to get us to our destination."
