Phoenix Reservation center agents have not had a pay raise in THREE years. And yet the work LOAD has increased by 100%. Where is the justification in that?....I say it is TIME to show MGT that we ARE important and this company CANNOT survive without KNOWLEDGABLE people on the phones......I say it is TIME to STRIKE and see how well PARKER can run this company with minimum staffing on the phones to answer HIS customers, questions, concerns .....LETS STRIKE!!!! :up:

I AGREE LETS STRIKE, SINCE WE ARE ALL PART TIME, AND WE ALL HAVE OTHER FORMS OF INCOME! TOGETHER WE CAN BRING THIS AIRLINE DOWN AND DRIVE THE DAGGER INTO THE HEART OF THE BIRD!

SIR, DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW WHAT OUR DEADLINE IS THAT WE EACH HALF TO WRITE OUT OUR 50.00 CHECKS TO DOUG FOR NOT BEING OTP THIS MONTH?

I believe the deadline is NOV 15.......and my checking account is low because I only make 8.00 an hour as a six year employee......At what point in time will US Air res agents have to start paying out of their paycheck for poor performance?......they are so overpaid that they wont even miss 50 bucks a month, anyway...
 
You can not decide to just strike. It ILLEGAL outside of any section 6 neogtiations.

You have union leadership...Doug claims to have $2.5 billion in cash and that there is no obstacle they can't overcome (his quote)....ask the company to sit down and discuss an increase if your pay is substandard to that of U-East Res. Show that your work load has increased with some hard facts. Go through your leadership to present this to the company, or you will picket.

You are always free to picket in PHX. That is not a job action; but rather a public show of collective discontent with wages and work conditions.

Yo PITbull, we voted in the teamsters 16 months ago(aug 04) and AM WEST only gives us ONE WEEK of negotions every quarter......Needless to say AM WEST is not practicing good faith.....In the meantime we have not had a pay raise in over two and a half years....can YOU live on 8 bucks an hour ?.....NO!.....do you make 8 an hour working for US AIR?.....NO!...so you cant tell me how it feels......I feel that the ONLY way is for us to strike!!!!!!........

They also think that we can be easily replaced with newbies on a much lower payscale within a matter of a couple weeks...so lets let them show that to us.........While we are OFF the phone..we will still report to work every day but we will report to the front of the building carrying signs that say "Newbies beware!! you are walking into a sweat shop!!"

I just received a PM from managment. They told me to knock it off about starting and rousing up the other labor groups. He told me to stick my nose in my own business and stop giving advice to other groups about picketing.

Told you they hate this. You can gain some voice on this issue of wage pariety if you organize and picket.
Management dispises overt discontent from Labor....specifically public bashing. They will listen if you picket. Otherwise, there is nothing to compell them to listen.

I would know... 😀

And Bob, there is no way that CWA-East will bring down their wages even lower. Managment will have to bring their West group in line with pariety.

im a phx rez agent and think we all need to stick together. We dont know much about the east and kinda wonder what you guys r thinking. Call volume is skyrocketing . Hiring has been nonstop in phx for months but no one stays its a lousy job for less than 8 hr when fast food pays more with less to know. Management does not care about the cost to hire newbies because I believe they are reinbursed by the state or fed government as a job training program. Your tax dollars at work! I have never had anyone to confirm this but it makes sense. Any help from any union to bring this to light and turn off the faucet. Maybe if training costs were not reinbursed they might be willing to pay more and keep us trained rez agents. regards to all rez agents out there

Gee, what is management afraid of? Being exposed for not doing this "terrific job" that Wall Street and Joe Flying Public thinks they are doing? Hmmmm...

I agree it's is time for the employees to share in the new company's corporate rewards, but it has to be done within the law.

Is it deja vue, or is it just me?

I'd bet large UWest will NOT be brought up to UEast.

It is more likely UEast will continue to be rightsized as more newhires are hired at UWest.

I said a long time ago the paycuts and furloughs would continue after the merger.

Guess who'll do the dirty work? :shock:

I agree it's is time for the employees to share in the new company's corporate rewards, but it has to be done within the law.
