Just a quick question for anyone who might know, on the A and B awards are they taxed at 25 percent or 40 percent? Because they are included in the regular paychecks, Im not sure. Thanx, Mama

Ps Id call payroll but Im not sure if anyone still works there!

Thanx, the reason I asked, and I havent worked in a while(heard it was in my paycheck, the last A and B was too!) was that I wanted to give it to the person I really think deserved it. I was really just the middleman and someone alse actually was able to solve the problem. I just didnt want to pay the taxes. Regards, Mama

Oops, I almost forgot! Congrats on your A and B, Im sure you deserved it! Mama

Quick clarification: Although bonuses are usually subject to tax withholding at a rate higher than most people's actual tax rate, come April 15, the bonus will be subject to tax at the same rate as all your other ordinary income (unless the bonus pushes you into a higher bracket, which is highly unlikely).

Passing it along to someone else you think really deserves it is very generous of you. 🙂

If I were you, I'd go ahead and simply pass along the whole amount to them - but in giving that unsolicited advice I'm assuming that you aren't in a very high federal tax bracket (and unless you're a pilot, or you're married to a high income earner, how COULD you be in a high tax bracket - you work for an airline)?

Well, I tried to give her all of it already and she refused but reluctantly agreed to take it only after I agreed to the amount less the taxes. Its pretty obvious why she deserved the A and B, she has a lot of class. She is one of the reasons I still work here. Smart, willing to help and I am privleged to call her my friend. Mama
