That same constitution applied to Obama...but it didn't seem to matter. His mother was born in Wichita, Kansas.  His father wasn't born here.  He was born in the US, but people seemed to want to demand a birth certificate proving that he was born there.  But even if he WAS born in Kenya,  the same rules that are being applied to Cruz weren't applied to Obama.
