I kind of think that we should start enforcing the provision in the second amendment about the "security of a free state" and require gun owners to head over to Syria and use them to insure the security of our free state.  After all, it's well known that they hate us for our freedoms...sounds like they are worth fighting for.  Instead, we allow the purchase of military style guns in this country and our only obligation is to slap a yellow "support our troops" ribbon on the back of the SUV while somebody elses kid goes to protect our rights and secure our free state.  Time for a little skin in the game.

Here's what Ted will find when he tries to cut those bloated parts....the congressmen and senators won't allow cuts that impact their states.  Like farm subsidies.  Kansas, Nebraska, Ohio, Texas, Calfornia and a host of other states won't touch that.   Then there is bloat like "disaster relief".  He stood firm and on prinicple when it came to helping New Jersey after hurricane Sandy.  But who was first in line for some "wasteful spending" when Houston flooded last year? 
 
He'll also soon realize that cutting the bloat out of food stamps won't cover the increased defense and war spending.... shifting spending isn't cutting spending.  So just like under Reagan...the deficit and debt will rise.

You just admitted to a difference between Reagan and Cruz and did not even realize it. While Reagan was willing to admit to a mistake and take appropriate action Ted Cruz's answer to a similar situation is to double down. With other people's kids of course.

Make no mistake, it doesn't change the fact that Reagan was viewed around the world as very strong on protecting the country. He didn't make any "carpet bombing " speech, but he didn't have to, it was well known in all circles Reagan would do whatever needed to be done, up to and including bombing.

You did it again! Of course the Reagan you seem to think existed and the one that actually did are two different things.
