Puh-lees change the dress code back to (not so relaxed)..

More s/a's THINK AND GET SOOO DAMN DEFENSIVE THEY CANNOT wear FLIP FLOPS!

Please please REVISE the DRESS CODE...

More headaches again today.
You Are Not Going to the beach. You are not going to the beach.

Get rid of wearing shorts ..

what's wrong wearing a nice pair of Capri's?

Thank you for this post. My mom was told she can't fly first class cause she wore flipflops. She should NOT have been allowed but she said another GA let her on before, so she still got on.. but she should not have been allowed. Not only does it make me look bad, because she's flying on my benefits.. another person who IS following the dress code could have gotten that seat / or paying pax.

Now, I sent her the dress code after the fact, my fault, but I clarified my error and know not to let it happen again.

Have you been to CORP HQ in TEMPE? Just stand in the lobby look around as people come and go. It will give you the final piece of that puzzle. They think they are at a Hawaii Luau there too!

Pfft. I've been there. All I did was stare at the security guard though. LOL.. back when I was hired I got hired at HQ.. went to the clinic there for drug testing, then to the HR department for badging etc..

BTW, there is a beach nearby 😉

LOL

sounds like it's a problem of someone not being able to follow instructions, not a problem with the actual dress code.

I would advise against flying with shorts or short skirts. Heck even if it's 90 degrees outside I wear my jacket for takeoff and landing. Unreal expectation I guess. If God forbid there was an accient I want as much covered as possible. And going down that slide with bare legs won't feel very good. It will burn like you can't imagine. I think our non-rev standards are to slack. We should set the example not lower ourself to what 18 year olds are wearing.

Get a life Wench1. This is one of the only good things we have at this company. I for one like being comfortable while I non-rev. Flips flops have never been appropriate. Why don't you concentrate on doing your job, and stop worrying about the petty of things!! 🙄

WCT- Well that was out there. I was just saying the lower you set the bar you expect people to go one step lower these days. Some agents allow it and some don't. Everyone has the right to thier opinion. Dress like your going to Wet and Wild if ya like. I don't concern myself with nonrevs attire anymore. It's not worth it and not my job. Have a great day though! 😀

Hey, if you guys back east want to wear suits and ties, go ahead.

When its 115 here in AZ, I'll be on board with my shorts.

I did the suit and tie crap long enough. It got so the only people overdressed on flights were non rev's.

As for the HQ, polo shirts, nice shoes and khaki pants was good enough for my department. It made for a better work day when were all not wearing monkey suits.

WCT-this one's for you baby!

I work the t/c, plus my supervisor works right besides me-the Gate agents DO NOT ALLOW to board with Flip Flops'..
<Maybe this is why you guys have the non chalant attitude that you have.
We took pride in flying all dressed up, and Im not in 115 degress wea..that;'s your problem with the heat not mine.

Ya fly for FREE, dont make it look like Trailways in the sky.
but then everyone has an opinion.,just like a nose.

I do my job very well, I allow and I bend-so why should I explain to you.?

Ya loser!

I'm gonna wear my nicest pajamas. I say comfort is everything! Screw the idea of Easties wanting to be professional all the time. What's up with that? 🙄

Have you noticed the clientele who happen to fly these days, they're not exactly an exclusive bunch? And i'm not just talking about US Airways passengers. Hell, if anything, when i see a well-dressed person on board an aircraft these days, especially one who's travelling on the weekend, i know for a fact they're more than likely a nonrev. Unfortunately wife-beaters and flip flops are the status quo more often than not. Having said that, as some of you may or not know, Delta recently relaxed their dress code as well, simply stated, if its good enough for a revenue passenger to wear, then so can a nonrev. I must say though, it seems to me that some of the dress-code Nazi gate agents at Delta nearly had a conniption fit when they found out they were no longer going to be able to boss around nonrevs anymore due to their appearance. Seemed like some of our gate/ticket agents really got off on telling people no to their attire.

They must be on a power trip-Im not..I just try to do my job..
I get a fone call, yada yada who let this non rev board with such and such..

What happened to looking neatly dressed?
Not talking Stilettos, micromini skirts, but nicely dressed?(guys wud prefer the latter)
i understand guys hate wearing suits and ties, but a polo shirt ,dockers, example and loafers..

For gosh sakes, Im so tired of looking at the public like they just rolled out of bed.
If I worked in a hub, and I saw a non rev dressed nice, Id upgrade them ,before the beach sweetie, and I'm not against being comfortable, Im all for it, it's the nasty attitudes that I get in return.

this gal mentioned her aunt's NEIGHBOR gave her the buddy pass, WITHOUT GIVING HER A BRIEFING ON DRESS ATTIRE>

No one wants to be a bully. I will do any and everything for my nonrevs! But just have a little self pride. Is it too much to ask that you dress nicely? I am not saying a tie or jacket. Just look nice. Like I said, you set the bar at 10 people will try for 8. It's just a reflection on the new American attitude.

I lived in Hawaii where I non-revved inter-island often. I was  shocked  when Hawaiian denied boarding to my two little girls (2 and 4 at the time), because they were wearing sandals and sundresses with spaghetti straps. I guess we've come a long way from dressing up for NRSA.
