No one has said if they fed ya'll for Thanksgiving or if they're going to feed you for Christmas???

Yes and no to the first holiday, and probably yes and no to the second one too. 😛
We have a memo posted that breakfast on Christmas starts at 530am and lunch starts at 1030am. I heard the secretary is coming in at 430am on Christmas day to get things set up. After being the one involved with both holidays the past few years, I appreciate what she is doing (even if its all gone by the time I make it over to get some food.) And for Christmas, if anyone doesnt get any, find out who was in charge this year and offer to volunteer your time and energy to make it happen next year so that no one gets left behind!

This is unbelievable.

You mean they are actually going to feed us over the holiday, AGAIN, (something no other US airline does?? If this is true, can you continue the whining in the same boring thread from Thanksgiving?)

Mgmt should've canceled the food plans for Xmas after reading how upset that whiner pilot was when he landed in CLT and they ran out of food, or that they were saving plates of food for inbound crews, meeting them at the gate. It's just unbelievable that they would even attempt a nice holiday dinner. With all the cost cutting, it'll probably just be dark meat anyway, and they'll probably just run out of squash in CLT before I land. I hate them for this.

We passed through PHL on Thanksgiving and they had Boston Market catered. I never received a memo about any of the stations serving food or where to go. The other crewmembers had heard about it though. Since I didn't receive a memo, I just assumed the company stopped doing it because of all the cuts they were making.

I get to fly on Christmas Eve and Christmas day (days 1 & 2 of 4). I am telling my crew to go eat as they are 14 and eleven hour days. If nothing is open on the airport or no food is provided for crews, we'll go off airport to eat...schedule be darned. It is amazing that flight crews are the only employee groups EXPECTED to not eat or take a break during a work day.

At PHX ATO on Christmas Day all fleet, pax svc, maintenance, tower, inflight, and pilot groups (along with admin people working that day) will be eating well. Inflight will be served in the checkin area. Pilots will be served at any of the locations (N1 ramp break room, A conference room, inflight check in area). Pax svc, fleet, admin and tower will be in both A conference room and N1 ramp break room. For pax svc/fleet choice of smoked ham, pork loin with apricot glaze and craisins, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, beverage, and your choice of either apple cobbler or peach cobbler. Inflight and maintenance menues are similar. All is being catered and we expect, once again, for there to be plenty for all. (alternate protein is planned for those that have dietary needs based upon their chosen religion).

All stations should have food but the times of serving and the menu will vary based upon operation and availability of catering. Hint - it's really tough to find someone that will cater on Christmas Day.

To all - A merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! 😀

You can always hit the snack machine in ops. I hear its open 24/7. 😛h34r: 🙄
Most of the stations have extra food and plan for a couple of flight crews to drop in anyway. If you arent invited off the bat, just ask if the company is providing stuff anywhere. I know when the employee group was in charge of Thanksgiving (up until this year) we always planned for every flight crew thru the time we were open and then we still had to go boxes for the crews to take food to the hotel. Sometimes its hard to plan exact numbers because one year none of the crews would eat anything and the next year, they all showed up starving. We actually always ended up with stuff leftover the next day.

We were fed quite well, a Honeybaked ham with bread and assorted salads and soft drinks. Cookies and cakes were provided by other employees, enough to go around for both AM and PM shifts and plenty left over on Dec26th

We got Crew Meals on the 25th on both legs .... Hey considering EVERYTHING was closed in our RON city (unless you want Chinese, think "A Christmas Story"... FaaRaaRaaRaaRaaRaaRaaRaaRaa), we did well.

Thanks !!!

It was a pleasant surprise for me and my crew to have crew meals (turkey dinner) boarded for our morning flight on Christmas day. It was a nice touch, and thank you to whoever made this decision.

But I could not help thinking I would rather have my contract consistently honored by my employer than to have this unexpected treat. In the larger context: "Enough of the trimmings; how about the meat?"

Would you recommend then, no holiday meals in the future?

I can't speak for other groups, or even my own. But the sense I get from the pilots is that we would rather skip the free meals in return for honoring our contracts without having to resort constantly to grievances and arbitration. Of course, this management group would promise exactly that, then deliver the exact opposite. On another thread someone said it quite accurately and clearly. They are liars and thieves and looking to ingatiate themselves on the cheap. We are not that gullible.
