Fortunately Obama intervened.

Unfortunately, Obama went to far to appease the Republicans and the rich people who own them.

Obama had no choice but to suck up to the GOP. His communist party infiltrated democrats went ballistic over the idea.Obama with his failing approval ratings and coming re-election prospects dictated the move. He needed a much desired bump in his ratings which by the way really didn't do much at all.

I'm at a loss as to how GWB could institute a tax hike when in Crawford Texas and out of office.
