The Fixation with US

I read this board as an ex- employee - long gone to ponder what might have been and to be reminded what the job still isn't! USAir paralells my life kinda - I was young and full of life with the best job ever at US. At near 40 life's realities are met with a realistic new career. Approaching midlife I hope to someday have a job that's easy on the mind and body. Ahh to be young again, that's why I look back through this board. I think I'm not alone when I see that I'm not really missing anything though. Sadly it's comforting.

I can handle it. It's time for some of you to quit whining and get a life outside of bashing US Airways...if you have no personal stakes in the success or demise of US Airways beyond your usual pointing and laughing...move on. This employee has had enough.

Dont take it personally just like you shouldnt at work. Come in, put in your time here and go home, just like at work, right? You have the same thing happen with those who like to make snide little comments as you check them in or walk down the aisle, only they type it here instead.

I've been a member of this board for only a few months but in those few months I've observed a somewhat unhealthy fixation with all things related to US.
Now, I'm not trying to be snarky I'm really trying to understand what drives this obsession.

I can understand an employee's frustration with current state of the airline. I can understand a recent traveler posting a rant. I can understand someone who recently left company airing their grievances etc.
What I don't get no matter how hard I try are the people who claim they haven't flown US in years on this board bashing the airline or the employees who have left umpteen years ago. If you've left and you no longer care or have a stake in the future of this company then why are you here?

Again, I don't mean to be snarky but I know if I don't like a company I sure wouldn't be spending a lot of time hanging out on an internet messagboard picking a part everything done by that company. I'd be out with my friends or family or maybe even reading a book. The level of obsession I observe here borders on unhealthy.

So, can someone explain this fixation? I really would like to know.

My explanation is .....
Well when one has a little free time on line and you've read about the other train wrecks out there like Britney Spears and Naomi Campbell, then it's always fun to come here and read about this corporate train wreck. It's like watching "Soap" in the '70s or Will & Grace. It makes you laugh and you have the option of hitting the off button on the remote.
