What's new

the sky is falling everywhere!

New aircraft provide a big advantage for airlines. They please passengers. They use less fuel than old aircraft. And they require less maintenance, saving millions of dollars, in what is referred to in the airline industry as a "maintenance holiday." The rapid low-cost growth of Spirit (SAVE) , like the growth of JetBlue (JBLU) a decade earlier, is being fueled by new Airbus jets.

whoo hoo a maintneance holiday! wonder why aa would want job security to go away? hey i know when you get laid off they dont have to pay you for the "maintenance holiday" !!!!!

I say yes they are panicking because if this is voted down the company will not pay for their legal fees.

More than just legal fees, all costs associated with negotiations, lost time, Hotels and other travel expenses etc. All the Locals were told to submit reports, not clear how they will divy up the money though. The Unions, not the members, will get millions from the company if they bring back ratified deals.

Oh yea, and they dont have to live under the deals either.

Money Money Money and yet no Money.. WTF?

All AA network facilitys upgraded thanks to previous givebacks of Employees
6 Billion in Bank

Do you realize this is all about AA's future, and how they will survive in business and pay off the creditors?

As a former member of the IAM and union represented by Ms. Levine, I would do exactly the opposite of what she said. I honestly believe my local attorney could have done better after seeing all the crap that has happened with her as the lead attorney. Seriously, could we have done any worse. Are we still voting on a contract shoved at us. Just saying.
