I am not aware of any significant number of people who thought WWII was not justified. After Japan wiped out Pearl people were lined up to join.
The towers were taken out by the Taliban who were based in Afghanistan and surrounding areas. Bush not only went into Afghanistan he decided to try and rebuild the country. Why he went into Iraq is a question that will likely remain unanswered till he passes away if not longer. Viet Nam and Korea were thought of as unjustifiable and remain viewed that way by most. There were no vital interests at stake other than the idea of stemming Russian expansion. Innocent Americans? They are either military or press. Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan are not exactly a tourist destinations. The military should not be there and if the press wants to send folks over there to get coverage and they can find some dumb a$$ desperate enough for a pay check.... well that's the risk they take. I still do not get those idiots who wre hiking and got picked up by the Iranians. A whole planet and they go there? I have no sympathy.
There will be phoney wars because we let our government enter them. WWII was a shared sacrifice. There was fuel rationing, victory gardens, collections for metals, companies dedicated assembly line toward war materials, war bonds...etc What did Bush do? Started two wars and gave a tax cut. Sacrifice? We are paying higher fuel prices to the countries we are trying to protect.
Like anyone would have supported a war against Iran.
Blowing up Jews is an acceptable outcome?
