thanks for the grammer lesson mr spell check

You both need lessons in grammar, spelling, puctuation and the rules of using upper and lower case letters.

It's punctuation, not puctuation.

I just knew it looked wrong, but there is no spell checker on this board; and I was being called to supper - so I hit the "add reply" key.

Bad in the context of the post.

Say what you want about NWA management, but they are certainly earning their salaries now. Andrew Roberts deserves a nice bonus for the way he orchestrated the strike plan.

I've been thinking about your post. Do you have any idea of the cost of low morale? Do you know what happens when employees are treated poorly? It snowballs down to the customer. When employee morale is in the toilet, service is reflected. In the long run, a company with crummy employee morale CAN NOT compete against a company with content employees.

upilson, thank you for the grammar lesson I will try my best to keep an eye out for that. I wouldn't want "your" pet peas to get in the way of the facts. To insure "your" enjoyable reading I will keep on top of my grammar. But, how much do you expect out of a lowly scab?

I totally agree with you about morale. The problem is, the airline is in financial trouble and tough decisions have to be made. Concessions will need to be made. I realize that this may cause resentment within the ranks. However, if the employees resent the company that much, they should look for a new job. That's what 88% of this country's workforce does.

Here's the deal. Management sits down and honestly discloses all the companies financial records. I mean all of them. Then there is an across the board sacrifice. It should not be where the office workers give 10%, lower management gives 5 to 10%, upper management gives 10% (but none of their bonuses are touched, none of their pensions are touched... and in fact when bankruptcy is looming, no one should be receiving a bonuse... and then labor is required to give upwards of 25% and that does not include acquired benefits. Can you see why people get mad? But, if all pool together to save a company, you will see morale increase and people try their best. I mean its People Skills 101. Its not brain surgery.

Now if you are on a major ego trip and want to bust unions...don't care that it could be the wild card that sends your company right into bankruptcy, destroys company morale so that it take two decades to rebuild (like Continental), then go ahead with the NWA plan.

I agree that other things can be done to go about this better and don't always agree with NWA management's actions. But across the board cuts aren't the answer either. It's about getting their costs in line with other airlines so they can compete. I guess we'll see what happens.

I vote for bankruptcy for NWA...Lets let the courts decide our pay cuts. Better yet why not liquidiate and then maybe the airline industry can be better off with one less carrier trying to give their product away instead of selling the seat for what it costs them.

You might get your wish. Too bad... NWA has a lot of great employees. But I guess you don't care about them.

For a group that hates the company so much, I don't understand why any of you would want to work for them. I would have been looking for a new job long ago.

So tell me NWA NJ, just exactly how much do you know of the negotiations between NWA and AMFA? Where did you get all your so called knowledge on it? Have you actually seen the company proposal and or amfa's proposal? Do you actually believe in that small mind of yours that NWA would ever pay severance to 2500 employees at a cost of $175 million when all they wanted in pay cuts over a 5 year period was $176 million? Obviously you have no knowledge whatsoever into any thing that has been going on at NWA other then what the company feeds you in its special kool-aid. Drink up my friend.

Morale here is good even with the flight crews. Flight attendants are still a little cold but I can see the frost is thawing. A couple of more weeks and people will be saying, "Strike? What strike? AMFA? Who are they?"

I don't know where NWA NJ get his info; but I get my information from AMFA. What's this B.S. about NO CONCESSIONS?!
