Did you have anything to do with the plane that was delayed in Paris for almost 24 hours because one of your MEL's grounded it?

And btw then NW sent it to AMS almost 24 hours late with just 46 pax on it! And a full crew and FULL catering (nine flight attendants 6 is FAA max and and 264 coach meals! when 44 were needed)

Guess wasting money is more in important then hurting their completion factor!

Morale here is good even with the flight crews. Flight attendants are still a little cold but I can see the frost is thawing. A couple of more weeks and people will be saying, "Strike? What strike? AMFA? Who are they?"

I don't see anything thawing anytime soon. None of us have the attitude you think, we see you get on the planes with your confused looks when you read a write up and then there are those of you that walk around with your notebooks and pens like school children.

The prospect cleaners I feel for as they are caught in the middle and are working like dogs for probably just above minimum wage. But you guys? We'll let the some frost melt just lond enough to spit on you!

Some observers think a victory by Northwest could weaken the labor movement. "The success that Northwest is having will embolden companies to be more aggressive in using replacements in the future," says John Budd, professor of human resources at the University of Minnesota.
its here already.

So tell me NWA NJ, just exactly how much do you know of the negotiations between NWA and AMFA? Where did you get all your so called knowledge on it? Have you actually seen the company proposal and or amfa's proposal? Do you actually believe in that small mind of yours that NWA would ever pay severance to 2500 employees at a cost of $175 million when all they wanted in pay cuts over a 5 year period was $176 million? Obviously you have no knowledge whatsoever into any thing that has been going on at NWA other then what the company feeds you in its special kool-aid. Drink up my friend.

NWA wants $176 million savings per year from the mechanics and cleaners. Now I could be wrong, but much of the problem around the union's proposal was that the savings were only good for the first two years. In the third year, wages go back. I'm sure I am missing part of it and there is much more to it.

Where do you get a severance cost of $175 million? This is just a rough estimate, but here goes... NWA wanted to cut 2000 jobs. Let's say the average salary $50,000 (although it's probably lower than that). Six months severance would be $25,000. That would come out to $50 million... plus whatever their health care costs are for that period.

Once again NWA NJ you have shown your incompetence concerning the ongoings at NWA. As of April 2005 there were 5,294 amfa members, if amfa had approved the so called contract NWA wanted to force upon us there would have been 2,454 amfa members left for a difference of 2,840 jobs lost.

You don't have to be rude... I said they were rough estimates. I read 2000 jobs to be cut. Maybe that was one offer. So fine, add another 840 jobs to is. The total would still only be around $73 million.

BTW, I have seen multiple reports that there are 4430 AMFA represented machanics and cleaners at NWA and that they wanted to eliminate 200 of those positions... so that would bring the number almost equal to what you have of 2454. So I guess the dispute is how many people are actually represented at NWA, 4430 or 5294.
