Things have slowed down here...

Rumor has it that by the year 2012 employees will only need one employee number. Sometime in the year 2009 a third employee number will be issued. Then in the year 2010 all west employee numbers will be dropped followed by the elimination of all east employee numbers is 2011. This will coincide with the integration of the pilot, f/a, maintenance, etc work groups finally consummating a merger started??? Gee does anyone remember when this all started? I did miss posting, this is fun! STIR THE POT

Combine that with unpopular board rules and the general depressing state of the company and there you have it. People posted here because they cared about USAirways, most people don't anymore.

I think you may have summed it up. Can't agree that the above posters were "fun" but I bet they along with US1Yfare made up a huge percentage of total posts, so that be one reason for posts being way down.

I am glad the moderators finally took control of the boards as things got out of hand quickly here. It may have been too little too late because many of the old timers were put off by the tone of the boards and have left.
 
OK, I'll add something that might get some response. In the just completed Pilots Crew News, Doug said that with the industry capacity reductions and a la carte charges that the industry might return to profitability in 2009. But then he said, if we make it to 2009.
 
I vote we start another "UAL buys LCC" thread or even better a "LCC buys UAL" one.

That should be good for about 10 pages.

Or could it be ,outside of the pilots, that things may be going alright for a change.

Let's hope the hurricane doesn't affect things too much and make fuel go back up again-keep your fingers crossed.
 
Funny this discussion was started. I had been thinking of doing the same thing for some time, having noticed the board drying up.

The reason it's so quiet around here is that USAV seems to have run its course. It's no longer relevant.

The intelligent VFFs who used to populate this board have moved on to other airlines because Tempe doesn't give a sh1t about them. They tried for a while to post on here, hoping Tempe would listen to the opinions of the people who actually paid for the product. Tempe didn't, even going so far as to tell them to take a hike, and the customers left the board (and took their revenue from the airline with them). They're alive and well and spending gobs of money on air fare - just not posting here and not flying US metal.

The passionate employees kind of had the same thing occur. To quote Randy Malin, "I'm going to go find a softer wall against which to bang my head." After a while, one kind of gives up. Unrewarded passion is eventually snuffed out.

I used to visit this board daily - or more than once a day, even if I just lurked - to see what was going on.

Nothing is going on on USAV. No offense, but there aren't enough people left here who know enough about what's going on at US to make this a useful site, or if they do, they are either not saying so or are too inarticulate to express themselves.

I've deleted it from my Internet "favorites" and now check very infrequently.

I am a long time lurker and sporadic poster on these boards. I can't help but notice the lack of activity here lately. What do you guys think???
I only read maybe once a month with my coffee. Since the board rules changed I don't like any more.
 
For me a mix of reasons...
1. I've lost hope that US will wise up and stop screwing the FF

3. There are no big events pending eg merger, BK etc.

what the crap am I talking about? Here's some clues. How many user ID's and passwords does it now take for the average employee to do there job now vs pre proposed merger? When will the merger be completed? Sometime this decade or the next! PHX better buy a twin bed set, the east/west marriage will never sleep well together due to , well duh, another thing to think about.
