Flight was light,boarded on time,watched pilot do walk around from window.
Then...no 1L/1R 2L/2R...Pilot politly says,well were all ready to go except we have no second officer...ooops.15-20 he shows up,we take off.No problem no one yelled or got upset that I saw.Not even the usual group moan you know.AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW..DDDDDDDAaaaaaaa.

Well after take off it was explained that the company in its wisdom didnt have enough pilots in PHL and this wonderfull gentleman was flown in from CLT. Sir thanks for coming.

Now is this the employees fault...no I think not,just an example of what the front line folks get slamed for.Now the crew and everyone else plays tagg all day trying to catch up.

This is no slow down,hey you cant even speed this up if you want...its bad judgement TEMPE :angry: style.

Yeah, why didn't Tempe forsee a pilot misconnecting for his trip in April and 3 months ago recall a furloughee?? Are they short on psychics in Arizona?
 
What is the point of this thread? This sort of stuff happens every day in this business...and not just at US Airways.
 
I'm assuming this was an "East" flight as HP pilots don't fly PIT-PHL.... all of the screw scheduling is still done by east...for east. The screw schedulers in "Tempe" (actually Phoenix) don't handle east crews...

Plus who has a second officer these days? Its either the captain or the first officer.

I don't know??? What is the point of:

1. A Management team that has demonstrated time & again that it can't operate the airline effectively. The DOT stats and the recent Air Quality report are my proof sources. What "Sources" will you use to refute my claim?

2. converting to a reservations system that clearly some 30 days later was/is not quite ready for "Prime Time". Refer to ANY number of news sources showing lines out the wazoo and post here asking if the kiosks are working in a specific city. Again UWCactus I have actual facts to support my contentions where are yours tough guy????

Perhaps the "Point" is that lately it happens all to often and customers and front line employees have had enough.

For my personally my "spend with US" since March 6th is $1,314 out of a total of just a hair under $3,500 total.

I have a very simple travel policy regarding US Airways right now. Screw up the pricing/reservation/operation and the next trip to be booked goes to someone else and is publicized both here and to Customer Relations in PHX via fare reciepts.

For US Airways the solution to all of this "Negativity" is this, "Screwing Up Less Equals MORE Money for US Airways"

Where I come from UWCactus that equates to a compelling business reason for US to "Straighten Up and FLy Right"

You may have only $1314 with US Airways since March 6th but you have at least double that in posts. Dude, get a life!

For those like you that tell Piney to leave need to realize something. He is on here with his opinions and stories while hundreds and hundreds that feel exactly like him are NOT on here. So I assume you'd want all of them to go away as well? Do you have ANY idea how much money that is? I don't get when airline employees tell customers regardless of your feelings to go away.

No miss connect.This was 8am flt.It was a scheduleing problem.Not enough pilots get it.And ok it was the 1st not 2nd officer jeshhhh.Lighten up.That wasnt even the point there was no warm body call him what you want and besides I said thank you.Sorry to waste your precious band with..duh. 😛 😛 😛

Well, that's his schtick and what he wants you to believe.

However, an objective reading of his posts from BK1 (and even since) clearly reveals he is on "your side" as long as you agree to work for pathetic wages, and quietly quit if you don't, so that his FF benefits and on-board experience are not disturbed by any unpleasantness.
