In an abundant showing of class by US Airways, they are shutting Toledo down 5 weeks earlier than announced. All employees were notified this morning of this change. This was some what expected as Shuttle America was only operating 2-3 flights of the 4 to 6 scheduled recently. They have been cancelling flights continuously for mx or scheduling...even had to cancel one because their reserve crew in Toledo was up drinking all night and slept in.

Its pathetic what they have done to a market that was filling up 727-200s, 737-400s, and MD-80s every day to PIT. Makes you wonder if they let a WO actually fly the TOL-PIT route if it would still be here (consider no one else rivaled Shuttle as the worst express carrier).

it is a total shame for a city to close even earlier let alone at all. i feel for all the toledo folks. good luck to yuo folks in toledo

It has to make you wonder where all of those passengers went. Prior to the US/PI merger, there was service to DAY as well.

USAir really should re-evaluate operating out of TOL again. All they need is a different carrier (PSA,Piedmiont,Transstates),etc...IT would have been fine flying to either CLT or PHL. Its a damn shame, all the flights are very much full still even with shuttles americas horrible performance! Great crew too.

Maybe you should get your facts straight b/f spreading rumers on a public forum. The crew flew the terminating pit-tol flight that night and were originally scheduled to fly out the next afternoon. They were not on reserve and did not know of the change in their schedules to fly out the originating flight until AFTER they had already be drinking.
