The gate agents have an N* in RES called N*WE Care where they can post info about themselves or other gate agents--such as deaths in the family, illnesses, etc--for other agents that may not have heard.

Tom Del Valle is reportedly working for a company that is training contract gate agents for American Airlines that the company is supposedly going to use in place of the career gate agents at even major stations like DFW.

The following was posted on N*We Care day before yesterday:

***************************************************
TOM DEL VALLE
YESTERDAY AS TOM DEL VALLE WAS IN A GUN STORE, A FIREARM
FROM ANOTHER ROOM ACCIDENTLY DISCHARGED AND THE BULLET
WENT THROUGH THE WALL TO THE ROOM WHERE TOM WAS AND
PENETRATED HIS TORSO, DAMAGING HIS LIVER AND ESOPHAGUS.
HE WAS TAKEN INTO SURGERY AND IS PRESENTLY IN CRITICAL
BUT STABLE CONDITION. WE WILL UPDATE ON HIS CONDITION
AS WE RECEIVE INFORMATION. PLEASE KEEP TOM AND HIS
FAMILY IN YOUR PRAYERS.
***************************************************
Does anyone know if this is true or not?

P.S. It still posted as of about 5 minutes ago.

True, we were talking about this on the golf course yesterday. Didn't this guy resign recently and then got a job with one of AAs vendors?

Here's hopeing the guy 'pulls-through' !

Some of you seem to have missed the irony that someone was asking prayers for a guy who is going to replace the people who are reading the N*--the gate agents--and who are being asked for prayers for him. Either a member of management posted it, or someone with real chutzpah.

Yes, it's true.
Our understanding is he left AA to start this company to bid
for the outsourcing contract.
They're starting with the PSRs who received notice back in
April. The ticket counter agents will be the next to go -
they are starting with the self service check in area - renamed
Bag Drop.
Gradually any counter agents left will be moved to the gates
until the outsource is complete. There is no known timetable yet
but it is probably why they granted us the early out.
It's such a horrible scheme, but nobody should have to
shed blood.

A human being is a human being. He has a family. Even though he was not liked by the people he represented. A friend of mine told me about the incident. Then I read it here. She also said that he was not a warm and fuzzy person. Made things difficult for passenger service people. Another reason they need a union vote real soon. I hope he recovers and changes his outlook on how to treat other human beings in the work place. Nobody deserves to go through this type of life threating event.

He didn't start his own company. G2 was originally Globe Aviation Services untill 2007. Here is a link with their management team bios and company history. https://www.g2secure...eam_members.php

It's true. I saw a copy of the email that was sent out by CorpComm over the weekend.

A tech in the back-room of the store was said to be working on a firearm when it went off. Why there was a loaded gun in the shop is still a bit fuzzy. Most techs I've encountered wouldn't be pointing a loaded firearm anywhere but downrange or into a clearing barrel.

Without a doubt, he pissed on and pissed off a lot of people over the years, but his wife and kids didn't have anything to do with that, or ask for any of this to happen. Keep them in your prayers if you're so inclined.
