I've seen it.  Just hoping they have a engines idle/brakes set feature in the event of data link loss while taxing on the deck.

Umm.."In the event of data loss" somehow actually matters to anyone during made-for-combat aircraft ops?  Whew!...You just know you've gotten older when.... 😉

That's not the only thing the USAF is doing/attempting to do.  They are also cutting back on the aggressor role used to train fighter crews.

Well...Who needs competent/well-practiced/Killer Pilots in America's warplanes anyway? Isn't it best we spend all available (or even purely fantasized) funds on making sure we take gentle care of 10-20 (or who even knows) million border crashers instead?

They better have some kind of fail safe in the event of data link loss.  Can think of nothing scarier on a flight than having an aircraft that won't stop while taxiing or one coming into land that no one has control of.

Shoulda thought of that with that missile that got away from them and shot TWA800 down.

The Vulcan was airplane way ahead of it's time.  Reopen the production line put new engines, digital FBW, and modern avionics and you would have a state of the art airplane.

They both flew for the first time in 1952.  Amazing when you think about.  Seven years after the end of WWII and the Brits come up with something as futuristic as the Vulcan.

Pan to the eight o'clock position.
