Lets all take those rose colored glasses off for just one second.....!!!

1. Stocks close to a 52 week low

2. Gas to 100 bucks a barrel

3. Labor groups divided

4. Winter delays coming

Somethings got to give...!! It can't keep going on like this, Doug knows it.

SL

Dougie will plea with the employees for more time.....

Labors had enough and begins action....

Wall Street loses faith in Dougie.....

Aircraft orders are put on hold...

$$$$$$ goes away....Big Problem

Employees go away...Bigger Problem

We made 177 million last qtr. and we have the worst service in the industry. What does that tell you? People today just don't care about service, they just want to fly when they can for the cheapest price!!!

Thing is...you have over $3B in cash now. Even if the next 6 months are "bad" due to Winter operational woes, the money will still be there in the Spring to take you into the Summer when revenues/profits could continue to grow.

That last item "Employees go away" made me laugh. If you haven't "left" yet, you ain't going anywhere until the lights are turned off.

What action can labor take that they haven't already? We already provide the worst customer experience we can? Do you think striking will work? Please! Not one single worker group on this property has the balls to walk off the job, if they did they would have done so forcefully a long time ago.

Dougie knows what is taking place, he is actually liking the in-fighting with the IAM and the Fleet Group, and the in-fighting with his pilots. A new union on the property keeps everyone working under the same favorable conditions for management a lot longer than if the current unions addressed the issues in a favorable manner. Dougie is a genius when it comes to this, and he will be rewarded for his brilliance!

He may actually be writing a new chapter in labor relations for the Harvard Business School. Give your employees enough to frustrate them but not enough to keep them happy. Divide and concquer, focus the hatred on the unions, and get the workers to re-organize thus allowing you more time to devise and implement your master plan. By the time a new union is on the property Oil prices will shutter any talk of raises or benefits being improved, and we will find outselves in a less favorable situation!

Are you suggesting that the bad customer service is under control of the employee? That the employee is mismanaging the tools provided by management and deliberately providing poor customer service?

Hopefully your comment included copious amounts of snark. If not, it should.

Oil prices will shutter any talk of raises or benefits being improved, and we will find outselves in a less favorable situation!

Forgive me here, but don't oil prices affect everyone the same, pretty much? Why would anyone buy that negotiating canard? Perhaps if Dougie would quit depending on employee givebacks in lieu of just good management (like booze to an alcoholic instead of self-control) he could be at the top.

Just sayin'
