I believe that this was actually an Air General tug (US contractor) that crossed Taxiway A while the warning signs were flashing.

See story

I seriously doubt it was a US employee. There is hardly anyone there at midnight but if it occured in CLT the press automaticly assumes it was a US employee. We have very little reason to cross a taxiway more than likely it was a contractor. You get what you pay for and its very hard to fix stupid.

I don't know anything either, but isn't it possible it could've been one of the folks on the"midnight"fueling shift". I'm guessing they still have to go to the other side to fuel.

Could have been coach. We need more info. I just hope everyone is ok.

It was a contractor for US, no injuries, except to the aircraft. That crossing is used quite alot at night by US people coming and going to the hangar...There was a US employee that witnessed the incident, and he told the APD that the stop lights were flashing when the accident happened. One possibilty is when those check runners are taxiing to the FBO they do taxi down A at a hight rate of speed, so by the time the aircraft activates the underground loop they are right up on the roadway crossing. We went out at 0500 and double checked the lights and they were indeed functioning...

I meant it could have been a US employee. Didn't mean you coach.
