TRANSPORT WORKER UNION LOCAL 580

Will be at the CLT airport to answer any of your questions relating to the America West/US Air merger.

We will be in Conference Room 10 behind the 1st In-flight Bar. This is Located in the terminal between Concourse B and C.

November 30th and December 1st.
From 10:00 am - To 5:00 pm

The whole purpose for union representation is To do whats best for the greatest number of members and I am willing to bet that Class 2,MLE stations and Furloughed members are greater than those of the class 1 stations.

Class 2 stations and MLE stations have to be worried that they just may be OUTSOURCED at the new US Airways.

Just curious how many years do you have in?? I have 7 and enjoy 3 weeks vacation, Fully PAID sick time, Double time if I choose to work it. Do you have any of those with the IAM contract?? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :down:

If you know of any furloughed FSE's let them know we will be there and we want to hear there questions and concerns.

In my own personal opinion the problem is not the IAM its the Contract the very same contract they Refused to take to their members and Rightly so IT SUCKED but this was the companys Last and Best Offer and was eventually imposed by the Bankruptcy Court, but now the IAM is trying to sell this as the best thing since sliced bread. WHY??? :down:

Your group is not the only one in this situation due to the merger.

Agree wholeheartedly with HPMKE........get your card in and let them know you want a vote.

Sad thing was that with the current negotiating committee, those selected for the committee had no experience with negotiating a union contract. However, one guy who had years of experience in labor relations was turned down cold when he applied to be on the committee. He had been, in fact, on the management side of a negotiating table at his former job. That person is the PHX station chair but he wasn't good enough to be on the negotiating committee. Go figure.
