U.S. senators seek pension assurances from Snow
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic senators were seeking to win promises on worker pension protections from Treasury Secretary nominee John Snow on Thursday and left open the possibility of trying to block his confirmation if they fail to get assurances.

Snow doesn't owe the Democrats any favors. He was nominated by BUSH. Block his approval? Very doubtful. Savy

Someone posted here the other day an article about Snow, and how he is on record as wanting to help Bush set the stage for companies to more easily switch from defined benefit pensions to defined contribution pensions. It also mentioned that he was the beneficiary of a "defined benefit pension".., a very lucrative one too..

John Snow was confirmed as the new Secretary of Treasury last night after he told congress he would work to protect pension plans. We'll see...
