The UAL mechs represented by AMFA voted "NO" to their latest TA from the company, yet the union local presidents agreed in advance not to release the percentage of yes/no votes. Why? 51% no votes aren't any different from 100%. It's still a no.
Bigger picture - this is the path that the USAirways' IAM represented workers appeared to be going down just a few weeks ago. The same issue is now in UAL's hands - will the mechs strike or won't they? If they do attempt it, will the judge deny them that right? Or will GW step in, like with AA a few years back, and order them to work? These next few weeks should be very interesting, with UAL taking some [negative] media coverage away from US.
