It's rumored that Skywest will no longer be providing customer service or ramp service for United Express at TYS or BNA and maybe others? Does anyone know if this is true? If so, whats going on? Who will be taking over? Any info will be appreciated!! Thanks.

When I visisted BNA last the agents said Delta Global Services had gotten contract, and they were not happy about it.

Comair is suppose to take over the Skywest United Express ramp this month believe around 15th. I know that neither them nor the Comair employees were happy about it

Comair was awarded the ExpressJet ground services for TYS. The other stations, I don't know. Comair low-balled the TYS Airport Authority on the bid. Comair is also beginning Skywest very soon. I haven't heard that Comair employees were upset. Why? That's pretty good job security for them.

i dont know about your station, but at mine theyre upset cuz they dont really have the manpower yet they are forced to go to ORD for 9 weeks of training and thats on top of working their 6 flights a day coupled with Skywest flts to ORD, many of which are either late or cancelled

We may be from the same station, then! I have a buddy there at Comair that doesn't mind the work - but they are VERY short-staffed right now and are in the hiring frenzy for f/t and p/t help. 9 weeks of training?? Yikes!!

Comair taking over ExpressJet ground at TYS? Customer Service and Ramp? Do you know if the same is happening with ExpressJet at AVL? I know this is a United board, curious if anyone knows. Thanks!
