Hi CNN just reported a US Airways jet in Pit had a nose gear problem. Any updates? I think they said flight 231 to PBI.

One passenger complained of neck and back pain and asked to be taken to the hospital.....

OOPS! there goes your $305 million dollar profit

😛

just teasing ya'll

Luckily for US the passenger disclosed that she had pre-existing injuries.

N529AU, a 737-300.

Ya know, I've often said that I'd love to see what Boeing bolts the nose gear to. Or the bolts they use. Both must be plenty strong to withstand the daily abuse that nose gear gets.

Course now for the real question: where are the 737s worked out east these days? Vendored? Inhouse? PIT? CLT?

Landing gear is outsourced, and it just depends when the 737 last had it C or Q check to see if ST MAE at BFM did it or was in done in CLT.

There has got to be insurance for this sort of thing. I saw a ~70 year old man do a face plant onto the pavement in CLT early Sunday afternoon. It kind of made me sick to my stomach, I did not watch to see if he was OK or what happened...

There is insurance - lots and lots of liability insurance. They'll cover the medical expenses, if any.

🙂 Holy cow Carl, we broke the Boeing n'at. Some jag off put a 5/6ths bolt in there instead of 3/4.
