NEW YORK, Feb 28 (Reuters) - US Airways Group Inc. (LCC.N: Quote, Profile , Research) said on Wednesday it reached an agreement with units of Citigroup and Morgan Stanley to borrow up to $1.6 billion, which would allow the airline to refinance $1.25 billion of its senior secured debt and $325 million of unsecured debt.

The No. 7 U.S. carrier, which last month withdrew its hostile $9.8 billion offer to buy rival Delta Air Lines Inc. (DALRQ.PK: Quote, Profile , Research), said it expects to complete the transaction by the end of the first quarter.
