Well, who would have thought. An airline now accepting an online auction paying service as means to pay for airfare.

Ladies and Gents.. our brilliant management has now allowed PAX to purchase airfare with.. yep.. you guessed it..

PAYPAL!!

Hey..

Money is money...

We've got bigger problems...Dougweiser and Scotch for 2 of them.

Operationally USAir....ways..aka USError..ways...aka USTrail..ways...is a mess.

Until they accept pigs and moonshine in trade, a valuable market will remain untapped.

I totally agree. I love the referenes to our two top men to. Very funny!

If i'm not mistaken, Northwest recently announced the Paypal payment option as well. So does that mean that perhaps sometimes US Airways will offer a dirt cheap airfare, but only if i use the "BUY IT NOW" link???

I have loads of S&H Green Stamps books, maybe they'll accept them soon! :groovy:

Finally, the SandCastle does something of convenience FOR the customer... and all you people do is bash them.

PayPal has become the "internet way" of paying for merchandise ordered online. I've offered my customers this option for many years... so has my wife with her online store and Ebay auctions.

Other airlines (NW IIRC) are also using PayPal.

For those who don't know what PayPal is all about, let me give you a short tour. Many people are still hesitant about using CC info over the internet (and I can't blame them). PayPal provides a mechanism to pay for things online using a CC without having to directly providing the CC info to the seller. As a buyer, you have the choice of paying with your PayPal balance, your checking account that's linked to your PP account, or the CC linked to your PP account.

And if you have a balance in your PayPal account, your money earns interest as if it's in a bank... usually at interest rates better than money market accounts.

But PayPal still requires one to have either a credit card, debit card, or a checking account--and there are some Kettles out there that have none of the above (really--not joking here!)

Yes, Beth, I agree.. especially in the area you and I live that's a definite possibility.

I would rather use PAYPAL for payment instead of a CREDIT CARD. Many Many business are using PAYPAL as a payment method. For US Airways it is fast CASH. when the transaction is made it is almost immediately posted in the BANK. SMART MOVE !!!!!!!
