ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 25, 2005 -- US Airways announced today that it will adjust systemwide capacity, slowing growth, by returning 11 Boeing 737 aircraft to lessors beginning in May, as the benefits of increased aircraft productivity expand across its network.

WOW! The FLL minihub did not last that long at all. Cutting FLL-SAL, FLL-PTY, FLL-SJU seems to be about half of their flights to the Caribbean and Central America. I believe the only Latin and Caribbean destinations left out of FLL are to KIN, SDQ, SJO, and CUN.

BRAVO to our marketing dept again.We just started flying EWRFLL with the flts going out 95-100% full nearly every day. I guess they figure they can't improve on those stats so pull out.Most of the passengers on this flt are going to the carribiean or south america. Have not seen one priceline or cheaptickets type fare. All were $450 and up.But the again what the heck do I know.So how are they rewarding the bonehead who put us in the markets we are pulling out of? Are they making a new VP position? And did'nt it cost us loads of money to start these cities up? 😀
