US to end service to GUA

For my very first post since emerging from cornfieldtopia, I would like to say that I hate that flight anyway.

Dont care.

Note: to moderators....I don't really hate Shannon....this a reference to the movie Anchorman and is an inside joke. I really believe that she is awful because she has beautiful eyes and her hair smells like cinnamon.

LOOK EVERYONE!! IT'S THAT HOT TUS PILOT!!! Hands off, he's mine now. Even though his hair...looks....stupid.......

I heart you Tus.

Sorry. I fail to see the logic in this.

Would it not make more sense to continue high-demand international service and simply get another contractor to service our flights?

Fuel at GUA is over $5/gallon and the station does not command high yields. I think that over time, many 'one hit (flight) wonder' stations will be disappearing for most airlines, sans certain very high yield destinations.

Any chance the reduction is due to the STAR hookup with CAL? I'm thinking YES.

I remember when GUA was linked to FLL during the time it was a focus city, 2005-2006. That GUA flight kicked ass...A321s oversold everyday! Alot of it was originating FLL traffic, too.

I agree, maybe the service should be upgraded to a 320 from the 319 to try to pick up some of the UAL customers.
I believe UA's service was from LAX. One of the LAX to Central America flights on UA made a stop in MEX. I want to say it was the flight to San Salvador, but it might have been to GUA.
