It is not a Coke product it is a 7UP product, in 1986 Dr Pepper and 7UP merged.

And in 1995 Cadbury/Schweppes bought them.

US Cola......Bitter with a horrible after taste. LOL

Reminds me of the Saturday Night Live commercial showing Lake Erie Water. LOL

The airline can have any mix of sodas that it wants..including some Pepsi products and some Coke products together in the same insert. Dr Pepper is big in the south/southwest so that would be something to consider keeping as well.

And exactly how big do you want these carts to be??? 🙂

It's too bad US Airways can't market their own brand of cola. Virgin has "Virgin Cola" that it serves inflight. Tastes okay. Has a lemony zing. Europeans like lemon in their cola, for some reason. US Airways Cola? US Cola? 😛

I love lemon in my soda. Lemon Pepsi is pretty big in AZ now. Lemon Pepsi started showing up about 2 or more years ago and has caught on here. Howabout back East? Little 8oz cans are catching on too.

It's being done already...at least two cans each of Coke, Diet Coke, Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Sprite and one can of the following..Diet Sierra Mist (Pepsi product), DP, Diet DP, Ginger Ale, Tonic, Club Soda, Tomato, Bloody Mary mix, Cran-Apple juice, Apple juice. It does tend to get a little out of hand now with all the choices and some folks won't take a Pepsi if Coke is gone, etc etc but so far so good.

nycbusdriver, Come on RC Cola and Die Rite... funny
Minus well say u want TAB and JOLT on the cart.
<<Grin>> I'd like to stick with "modern" coke products , including DR. Pepper which is also a product made by coke. Canada Dry Gingerale is the closest you will get to Schweppes Products on the cart.

Royal Crown, Diet Rite (which is alway caffeine-free and has been sweetened with Splenda since Splenda came on the market), 7 Up, and Dr. Pepper are all brands owned by Cadbury Schweppes.

When you said "Minus well," did you mean "might as well?" Or have you been adding something to your modern "coke product?"

I prefer Pepsi, but there should be a bidding war over it.

Since the 170s have mostly contract catering they get all sorts of things on them in addition to the US selection... it's not uncommon to see Pepsi, Diet Pepsi and Dr. Pepper, and Tostidos in place of pretzels (not anymore I guess).

I really think US should think out of the box and go to small soda cans like most European carriers do. You get a cup of ice and a small can that fills the glass. They take up less space requiring less catering, weigh less, make service much quicker and safer, and the customer actually feels like they are getting more. Sometimes US gets Bloody Mary Mix and CranApple in these little cans.

Currently U CAN NOT serve Pepsi Products on our Aircraft. The contract with Coke Prohibits it. We can not even serve Pepsi on Charter Flights.

Contracts can be broken in bankruptcy, expect to see a flurry of them being abrogated at the last minute like US did last time.

And on the Panthers charter flights there was orange crush, grape crush and dr pepper, I know this for a fact as we got the leftovers when the plane came back to CLT on the return flight after all the away games and our caterers stocked them on the flight.

700, I know they put a few cans of Diet Pepsi on as well but that was for only one person.

Since HP seems to be the dominate player in this "merger" I would guess Pepsi.
