No decision yet on which beverage will be served aboard all new US Airways flights:

US Airways serves Coke.
America West serves Pepsi.
  1. Which flavors do you like best?
  2. Which flavors do you don't like worst?

When I go to the store, I have a very scientific method of selecting a cola (Pepsi or Coke). Each week, like me - USAirways could buy the brand that is least expensive.

Very true and funny

Diet Coke leaves a nasty aftertaste, unless it's the new Diet Coke with Splenda.

Although it is good for cleaning silverware......

I'm decidedly in the "Buy what's cheapest" Camp. Why not mix and match.

You could have a "Mystery Can" one with a sticker on the bottom and whoever gets that one get a free snak box? whatever, it would create some fun and buzz on board.

Myster Can idea is splendid, though some could say its unprofessional!

I purchase diet coke only. Will drink diet pepsi if only choice. LOVE diet dr. pepper.

thank you to the f/a who recently gave me one of the cans boarded by mistake.

I say serve them both, that would certainly be something different 🙂

RC...at least then we can take the peanuts served and add them to the cola!!!

You can do that with Coke, too (never tried it with Pepsi, but it'd probably be OK if you like pepsi  ).

Seriously, though, don't expect any "whichever is cheapest that week" or "mix & match". The cheapest will be an exclusive contract, and they're normally negotiated with the parent company - not local bottlers or distributors - when you're talking about the quantity an airline goes through. In fact, the local bottler/distributor that delivers whichever is selected will probably make little or nothing off the contract.
