I doubt the religion played much of a roll. From what I have read he just wigged out. Fortunately he was subdued and everyone is safe.

I am not saying he was not religious. I do not know and really don't care too much. There are plenty of religious folks who are perfectly stable as I am sure you will admit. The Co-pilot seemed to indicate that the captain started to act 'different'. This did not sound like an on going religious issue but more that he just lost it some how and his religious side came out as a result. From what I have read his religious beliefs did not seem to be the root of the issue but rather some sort of physiological break. Hopefully he does not get his wings back.

Or stoped taking meds and this is why he had an episode. Which means he hid his condition since it would have meant no more flying if it came to ligth. Either way RELIGION had nothing to do with it. He just fliped out pure and simple.
