What's new

We all need a little humor every now and then.

Its amazing how every thread here turn to a union vs. anti-union discussion.

Actually companies that have non union labor force that are in a highly unionized industry, know that they could be unionized very easily, if they slip up and treat their workforce poorly. That threat alone can keep a company in check. Make sense?
It makes sense to me. If it were not for unions, you would not have the pay and benefits you currently enjoy.

Yet, you deride unions at every opportunity...

Hey Tech, they wont admit to it, I guess all those raises they recieved to keep the unions out were imaginary.

Plus Dapoes "threat of a union" response is a script from DL HQ. DL Station Manager in FLL said those words verbatum. I guess their threat of a union is going to get their frozen (Social Security off-setted) pension back and medical/oji accruals back.

All of these posts have given me quite a chuckle. Delta fills up a little empty space with a tribute to the Red Tail (since it is now swallowed up by the big D) and everybody turns it into a union discussion. Theres nothing wrong with having pride in an airline you worked most of you career at. The reality of this whole situation is that ITS DONE. Complaining about what the pilots got in the merger...the pilots always make out in every situation...what makes you think it would be any different under the "fair Delta"?
So ground service and maintenance have to decide on a union. Pppppllleeaaassseeee..get on with it already. Have the vote already. What may come as a surprize is that as many Deltas who vote for the union the same number of nwas would vote no. Either way it'll be a circus. Pull up your lawn chairs folks...more laughs ahead.

"Campbell said Northwest employees are “embracing the Delta culture,â€￾ which he said focuses on “taking care of the people.â€￾"

If I am currently enjoying the benefits of the union, why exactly do we need one?

Hey, if you love your crappy benefits, I guess that would make common sense for you guys.
"Hooray, for our crappy benefits!"

"Only a fool would deprive working men and women of thier right to join a union of their choice."

You make Obama and ACORN very proud.

From observation _______ sounds like a computer generated anti-union machine. Its more than obvious that _______ is working for the company. If you argued with _______ for the sake of showing an on looker the pro's of having a union in the past, I understand your actions. Now its got ridiculous!!! I have in front of me a book on busting unions, lawyers and firms who specialize in keeping unions out, and documentation and minutes at a very known company who were putting more money in keeping the union out than actually giving it to the workers in benefits and raises in which they were voicing over. The situation at delta is far more worse than I expected. Salaried employees are getting it long and hard. Far as Operations, everything is scattered from the shops to the floor to the airport gates. _______ knows this is going on and that he or she has to work extra hard on this forum and others to keep this argument senseless so the truth in the words of others are misunderstood or took out of context. It is a tactic just like fabricating increases.

FA's placed past industry standard, MTC's placed a couple hundred away, and res and the ramp are touching industry standard. Who is left? Merit employees? It's going to take God's strength to get Salaried people below the directors level to "INDUSTRY STANDARD". 10 years of salary compression, half a decade of frozen pay and they just went from a comp ratio to a grade level formula! Good luck on that one. Back to the scale/hourly workers. They are just playing a game of "Give-n-Take" with your money. Wiki "give-n-take" and see how to play the game and will learn how the company does it so easily. Now if you get to INDUSTRY STANDARD, how will you stay there? Don't say by hard work because that's what got you there.

The company banks on you to see the short-term, what's of now, while they went to school and built their income off the long-term. Anderson for example did take a pay cut coming from UHC to Delta if you are speaking on base salary. If you more into it, he will bring in a whole lot more keeping the controls steady at Delta than actually doing work at UHC. Last but not least, TALK! If they are doing a lot of this they are hiding something. Let me see you guys had 1....2...3? Three call in shows within a week. Richard, then Tony, now Steve to clean up on the 10th. You guys just had one with Tony a couple of weeks ago plus Richard coming down to speak and don't forget the Block Party. I don't know how obvious it can get, but I still say it's your right to choice. I am done
