What's new

Welcome Back to Work Mark Batschelet and Will Shirley

I've read on other forums the disdain for Larry Pike using Lee Seham as representation. If I feel that my local will not represent me to the best of their abilities and the the best of their abilities is only a career decision or uphold termination why should'nt that person that is being terminated or disciplined seek outside counsel. Lee Seham has represented our members well. Full back pay, no disciplinary action that is what Lee Seham has secured for our members. Yes our members have paid out of their own pockets but that cost was worth bearing the burden with the proven results of Lee Seham. Call him a shyster or whatever he's better than the TWU shysters that get no results. I would gladly pay for Lee Seham with his proven results than have our local represent me with no cost out of my pocket who have had their last 4 cases result in termination upheld by the arbitrator.

This was worth repeating. Quotations added by me. Appearently it came down to rather the gentlemen wanted their jobs back with Seham, or continue the current record with the TWU adding number 5 and 6 to the "terminated upheld in arbitration."

Another fine example of the TWU membership avoiding their very own union's attorney's and hiring AMFA's attorney to represent them.:

AMFA Attorney Lee Seham Representing TWU Local 567 President Larry Pike with 250+ American Airlines Mechanics Showing Support and Solidarity Nov 13, 2012 - Posted by: AMFA National

Larry Pike, President of TWU Local 567, when contacted by the press about the 757 seat issue, expressed grave concern about the quality of outsourced maintenance work being performed by TIMCO. In response, AA summoned Local 567 President Pike to an investigatory meeting. Sensing the possibility of retaliatory action, approximately 250 AFW employees gathered to meet Mr. Pike prior to the investigatory meeting. In a moving and effective demonstration of solidarity, they marched behind President Pike and attorney Lee Seham from the AFW gate to the administrative offices to convey their support for Pike's efforts to promote aviation safety.

I've read their decision a few times. This is a question for anyone who has read the decision and for anyone in a leadership role. Will this decision have any weight or bearing in favor of our Union members that are being falsley accused of something since the Company has decided not to discipline any of the Company witnesses that violated AA rules and regs 16, 32, 34 and maybe more ( not sure which ones ) ? To me, it seems the Company condones such behavior if it is in their interest to do so.

Of course they condone it, if anything they expect it. If a company witness comes clean and it hurts their case more than likely the company will terminate the witness, especially if the witness is non-union. I've seen it happen at LaGuardia. The Supervisor refused to lie and he was terminated. IIRC it was a sleeping case.

While some may say it happens on both sides the fact is if a witness lies on the Union side, and they can prove it the witness risks termination, however when it occurs the opposite way nothing happens.

Speaks volumes for AA's rules and regs. When it benefits them they use them when it does not the rules are cast aside. I think this decision will help our members who are falsely accused.

Local 567 shop steward nominations are coming up at our next union meeting this Wednesday. The shop steward that lied and got Mark and Will fired will automatically be on the ballot again since our local has decided he is still worthy of that position and they will never remove this sack of dookie. Will Shirley asked to be nominated for shop steward at large. Please turn out and vote for Will Shirley. I think the vote will be in December. Check the bulletin boards for exact time and date for shop steward elections.

One of the witnesses that openly lied to get two members fired, which is Rico Lima, will be going to DWH. Give this scumbag a warm welcome when he arrives. He is an OSM. The other is Sia Otto. She will now be a parts washer at AFW. You will be able to hear her before you see her. Watch your backs parts washers. She aint a nice person. Hugo Nieves I don't know where he will end up.

A good strong union would put these 3 on extinction and no one would ever associate with them again. They would eat alone, work alone, and exist while at work alone. But thats not the TWU way. Hugo's still a shop steward and the other 2 are prancing proud of what their evil deeds accomplished.

I am thankful this Holiday season that Mark and Will are back to work with full back pay, 3 weeks vacation added to their 2012 vacation bank and no disciplinary action. This would not have happened with the TWU heading up their arbitration but it did happen with Lee Seham at the helm. Glad Larry Pike is using Lee. Sign an AMFA card now and lets vote the TWU out.

Question, Are these 3 individuals you mention above, being relocated by the company due to the final results? In other words are they trying to protect them by moving them? Or, are they moving due to the rifs and realignments? All the union members need to know who they are and where they are going. Spread the word thru-out the stations these fine and outstanding union members will be working...

It doesn't matter. We have 'fine and outstanding (twu) union members' throughout the system!

They will fit right in!

This is due to the RIFS and realignment. Rico Lima OSM at DWH, Sia Otto parts washer at AFW, Hugo Nieves not sure. Scumbag Liars who will say and do anything to get what they want at your expense. Protected by the company and the TWU. Sign an AMFA card and lets vote the TWU out.

WNMECH and SWAMT Good Luck with your negotiations. I know your leaders will do well for your membership unlike ours.

Thank you.
It is a tedious process with its ups and downs, and this one should take at least a couple years to reach an agreement. With our observers in the room, we can follow the process closely and get to know everything said and done at the table.

On the good side is the fact that our members are in no hurry and are content to wait for an agreement that we can vote for.
If the company wants to only agree to crap then we have no problem with voting no.

When I worked for Eastern we usually recieved a favorable contract with the IAM and it usually took 2 or 3 years. But that was under Charlie Bryan. " Fight Like Hell" Jim Little well you've seen results and read the comments. Need I say more.

Thx. Yea we are expecting a long turn out on this one. Appearently the co seems to want to skip over the fact AMFA told them we will not entertain anything to do with conccessions.
You know, for what they are asking for in the 2 choices, why wouldn't we take our time? Contract remains status quo, until we vote a new one in place. I can stay status quo for 5 years if need be. And just look at how big of a retro check it would be. WN's correct though. The co originally said they wanted this done by no later than the end of the 1st quarter. Now that they see the rather large resistance to getting the 4th line back it will take years. I would say min 1 yr. as long as, well, that will be up to the co on how long they want to drag this out for. They are not getting the 4th line back!! Period, end of story...

If the TWU is successful in raiding your union That 1 year prospect for negotiating will turn into 6 plus years,$10 less per hour, and no attorney's on retainer for termination cases. "Fight Like Hell" Jim Little will be in your corner. WAAAY back in the corner. What a stupid bluff by the TWU.
