Well with all the SHARES talk, it occurred to me that I have no idea what the acronym stands for. (Remember SABRE originally stood for Semi Automated Business and Research Environment). Does anyone know?
Your light hearted suggestions are, of course, welcome. Let's have some for QIK, too!
Sorry I don't feel creative enough to come up with any of my own tonight. Another day dealing with that excuse for system has drained my creativity.

Good to know the official name, but it's still a piece of crap. Shift this, F-THAT, Control-this, F-THAT.

Emphasis on the F-THAT was intentional.

Say thank you Continental Airlines. They are the original owners of SHARES. It contains elements of Eastern's SYSTEM ONE. Before System One was added to it, it was even crappier than it is now.

SHARES stands for SHared Airline Reservations Entry Sytsem.

back in the 80's traffic was 1/2 what it is today. Time progresses and technology progresses, but why does US go back 20+ years?
