Southwest is aggressively raising their profile in DEN, and I'm wondering if the will further develop this city into a hub. I'm also wondering if any SWA insiders might be able to confirm that the topic is a 'when' rather than an 'if'.

There is plenty of advertising media all over Denver right now with pitch lines from SWA like "Let's take our relationship to the next level." - lol. Does that mean that the connection between Dallas, Denver, and PHX will be the driving force to send legacy carriers to restructure their routes.

SWA has also tried to capture more of the business passenger market which undoubtedly would make UAL uncomfortable in DEN.

"A rose by any other name...".

Technically, SW doesn't have hubs but rather calls their equivalents "focus cities". So while I suspect that SW won't call DEN a hub anytime in the foreseeable future, at 144 flights a day I suspect that DEN fits the focus city mold now.
