White House "Cooks the Books" from Original Report !

Here allow me to type real slow for you Professor....Why is the Sand White along the Beaches in Destin Florida?

The sand here on the Emerald Coast is among the whitest, cleanest and softest in the world. What you might not know, is that when you walk on the beaches here, you are actually walking on the mountains - the Appalachian Mountains, that is.

The sand on the Emerald Coast beaches is comprised mainly of quartz washed down from the mountains by the Apalachicola River, 130 miles east of Ft. Walton Beach. It is this quartz, ground to a perfect oval in each grain of sand, that makes the beach "squeak" when you walk on it.

Normally, such quartz has a rosy pink tint because of it's iron oxide coating, but the sugary-white quartz of the Emerald Coast lost it's coating somewhere along it's watery journey thousands of years ago. No one knows exactly how or why.

Guess what proximity that Emerald Coast is to say Mobile, AL?

Tell me this Wise Ole Sage, what keeps that Emerald Coast that you boast of from being contaminated by all those off shore rigs just up the shore a short distance in Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas?

Better yet don't bother with your spin, I know the correct answer!

BTW....Thought you might enjoy this photo of an Oil Rig off the Texas Gulf Coast, notice how muddy and contaminated those waters are due to all the drilling by-products. 😛

So it does, I take it you travel by horse and buggy tree hugger?

Or are you one of those hypocrit libbers who just B!tch and complain about modern society while reaping the benefits? Kinda like your hero Al Gore!!!!
Well local, I was actually more of a conservative until GW made it on the scene. But yeah, I drive a Prius, and if I need to drop a letter at the post office or run by the bank, I'll ride my bicycle (weather permitting). If I need a truck, I'll rent one, but I don't see the need to have a 350HP, 2 ton SUV as my daily commuter...I'm doing my part to save gas more than the environment. I know, you'd just as soon keep the Suburban, drill in Alaska and off the coast of Florida, and have gas prices well south of $3 a gallon. Personally, I would like to see gas prices over $5 a gallon...don't make it a tax...let the oil companies profit...heck...China's getting a pretty heavy demand for oil and gas...the oil companies could make a pretty penny letting the market decide the price they charge...and if China is willing to pay more - more power to them. I'm for anything to get Americans out of suburban assault vehicles and into something that can carry kids and gear just as capably. As it stands, we've got folks with a pretty yellow ribbon on the back of their Expedition, proclaiming their support for our troops, who are over in Iraq in large part because, well, Bush and Dick were counting on getting our hands on that second largest oil reserve in the world. I think it's fitting to say Bush and Dick, because those two are doing to this country what most people do with those two nicknames in the privacy of their bedrooms.

But "conservation" to Americans means nothing. We buy water in bottles and toss them wherever. We eat meals in cars and if a bag flies out the window...what the heck. We burn gasoline as if it's a God given right. So we need something more than "conservation" to get American's attention. Unfortunately, Gore chose "global warming". I do have to admit, it's got attention. But I'd much prefer a push to see that the US starts saving fuel. Then...we might be able to delay drilling in pristine areas until much later into the future. But, I think I read where we've got less than 100 years of oil available to us...then we run out. I don't think we'll really look at alternatives until we have about 20 years worth left, and then we'll have the word "crisis" to help out. But we'll be dead then, and it won't be our problem, will it now?

I see you shifted gears once you were proven wrong but thats fine, you keep on driving your prius and riding your tricycle and see where that gets you. I've been saying for a very long time fuel will be the least of our problems and seems that International body called the UN which you libbers are so fond of has got on board as well.

The world’s population has grown by 34% to 6.7 billion in 20 years!

"When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "A quart of wheat for a day's wages, and three quarts of barley for a day's wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

Just imagine how much worse it would be if you had it your way and abortions were not able to be performed.

You must have me confused with someone else Lily, I leave those judgements to the Creator!

Don't misconstrue that to mean I support such a heinous act, but we will all be accountable for our actions and must accept forgiveness of sins, not a single one of us is worthy!

I'm sorry...I don't see where you proved me wrong. You point to the turquoise waters of Mexico, and I point the there aren't any drilling rigs anywhere close to those turquoise waters, so you talk about Louisiana. I figured you can't argue with someone who shifts the discussion a thousand miles away from his initial comments, so yeah....you win.

And I guess you're right...no sense in trying to do an individuals part until the rest of the world is on board. I'm trading the Prius for an H2. I'll forgo the ribbon if you don't mind.

You implied the florida beaches (Emerald Coast) in particular were pristine due to no off shore rigs in the vacinity, I proved you wrong.......Deal with it!

Also proved you wrong on this account as well, Campeche bay is right next door!!!!

just your way of bowing out I guess!!!

I never said Im against conservation, In fact I've agreed several times with you on that point. Evidently your just too hard headed to admit that, or your reading comprehension is lacking!!!

Personally KC, what you drive does'nt make a hill of beans to me and your Utopian pie in the sky wishful thinking is just that, a fantasy!!!! We live in an Industrial age and we're not going back at least not until its to late, however your wish for $5.00 a gallon gas will most likely occur sooner rather than later and that too does'nt bother me in the least bit. As i've said over and over on these boards, gasoline will be the least of Mankinds worries.

They are not as close as you'd like them to be.

You must live in Texas if "right next door" is over 500 miles. I don't dispute that the Yucatan Peninsula is "right next door" to the bay of campeche...but you apparently didn't wait long enough for the map that showed where the drilling is occuring...you would have seen that the nearest rig to those turquois waters was over 500 miles away.

You're right. So if we've got all those worries...what's one more?

Yo'...I'm hearing those hybrid vehicles....especially the Prius ....have issues as far as the blind are concerned?

Too quiet to hear for the visually impaired?

By the way...about cooking the booking the cook.....LOL  .....anybody notice the FEMA staged press op?

Yes, they do as a matter of fact. The Prius, unlike the Honda, will run on electric only. If you have the AC turned off, there is NO sound. I try to avoid blind people in parking lots.

Does'nt matter what I like, look west from Destin Tard!!!!!!!

Nope, "OKIE...homa" as Bears likes to refer to us Southwestern born trash. your map shows oil drilling in the vast majority of Southeast Mexico and would certainly effect the Yucatan if it were a real problem just like rigs off shore of Mobile would hurt Destin Florida if left unchecked!

Your still a Liar!!!!!!!!

So....you are saying the environmental impact of a well that is more than 500 miles away would be about the same as that less that 50 miles away. Tard.
