I'm not sure where you got this delay of the individual mandate news from?

What I read is that they are only pushing the deadline date for a penalty imposition from Feb 15 out to when the open season ends March 31. The mandate still exists, they are just giving everyone the entire open season to sign up before they would be subject to a penalty.

That makes more sense anyway. Why have the penalty impose dat before the open season end date.

"The Obama administration is working to push back a deadline to prevent people who buy insurance during Obamacare’s open enrollment from being hit by the law’s individual mandate penalty, a Health and Human Services official said Wednesday.
Right now people must to sign up by Feb. 15 if they want to avoid paying the penalty — even though there are six weeks left in the enrollment season."

I’m not sure how you interpreted what I stated, in any way, shape or form to imply the individual mandate would be eliminated. I never stated that. Let me also state that it is not a penalty (as ruled by the SCOTUS), it is a tax.

You’re right. When did it ever make sense to tax someone for non-compliance six weeks prior to the compliance deadline date?

As per the statement from HHS spokeswomen Joanne Peters, she gives no reassurance that the individual mandate will not be delayed in the future as she states that it is true that this am and this night it has not been delays. From what I have read on numerous news sites, it is obvious the HHS has no idea the depth of the website problems and cannot accurately predict when the website will be fully functional or reliable.

It is just as likely that the Obama Administration may very well have to delay the implementation of the individual mandate for 6 months to a year.

Seeing that debacle of low bidders on display today I have my doubts as to whether the website will work in the next 30 days or so.
