Will Lame duck Bush let the Euros merge with AA?

British Airways and Spain's Iberia said they are in talks over a potential merger. The two carriers said that the negotiations are supported unanimously by the boards of both companies.

Not until laws are changed to allow a higher foreign ownership percentage. What the Brits and the Spaniards do doesn't trump US law.

More likely (for now) would be anti-trust immunity and a "strategic" alliance that may be as good as as merger/buyout without all the regulatory headaches.
