With the first pick, LCC selects...

The A330s have had corrosion problems all ready. There have been problems in heavy maintenance all ready with them.

Define corrosion "problem" as it relates to other corrosion "problems" with other aircraft or do Boeings, Douglas, Fokker and others have some kind of "immunity" to corrosion...NOT!

This seems to be your pet subject. What is it you have against an Airbus and why are you so quick to forgive/forget Boeing's own significant battles with corrosion through the years. We find it, we fix it, life goes on.

Glad you caught this first. Further this thread is discussing the 787 and A350-XWB. both of which (even more so for the 2014 350) will make extensive use of Composite materials versus metal (aluminum based, etc.), which reduces/eliminates many corrosive elements (joints, rivets, etc.).

Well, here it is, April 30, and still no official word on a new order for widebodies or narrobodies. Didn't the SandCastle recently indicate that it was near a decision and would make an announcement by the end of the month? Anyone here have any insight (or an educated guess) as to why there's no news yet?

Because the pimple-faced kids who work in that department are in the DECA work-exchange program in High School. They are studying for finals right now.
