US Airways Load Factors for December 2002 = 71.7% (thru Sunday 12/29)[BR] 2001 = 64.3%[BR] 2000 = 66.9%[BR]Based on these numbers, I think we are begining to see that fleet/route optimization is begining to pay off. (Painful as it may have been.)[BR][BR]Comparison: CAL LF thru Sunday 12/29/2002 = 73.2%[BR][BR]

Careful, the year over year statistics for this December are not applicable this year due to the fact Thanksgiving was so late.

The Sunday/Monday after Thanksgiving this year fell in December, rather than in November.

Considering U has close to 100 less aircraft than the last 2 years I think the load factor is pathetic. Bye-bye U .

[P][/P]That is a good point. Sunday and Monday 12/1 & 12/2 had extremely high load factors, 90.8% and 89.9% respectively. These two days alone added approximately 60,000 passengers to the month of December, which equates to roughly 1% of overall load factor. Either way you look at it, the trend is upward and in line with other major carriers. As with everything in life, I try to focus on the positive. Happy New Year!
