I hope he was not planning on re-election.

I've lived in the South all my life. But if you look at it in one context - the fight for "reparations"...then yes, maybe it is time that we "got over" slavery. That isn't saying it is or was ever right - but it's been abolished for a hundred and fifty years. If anyone was owed reparations, it was those who suffered under slavery in the 1860's...but not someone who was born in the 1960's. If reparations are in order, how about including the descendents of Chinese laborers who built the railroads and lived in conditions similar to slavery?http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070116/ap_on_...slavery_apology

How about the Indians....if anyone got screwed it was them.I've lived in the South all my life. And what you believe, how bright you are, how much money you have, make sure you never pissed another human being off, ever, make sure you never ever say what you think but what others want to hear.Perhaps there should be an age limit for elected officials....
I'm sure Jesus doesn't view that last comment as judging. And what you believe, how bright you are, how much money you have, make sure you never pissed another human being off, ever, make sure you never ever say what you think but what others want to hear.
This topic was started by the king of PC and the top liberal freak of the boards take it for what it is, twisted, like the author and the many other freaks on here.

That ignorant comment is typical of the sick and prejudiced mind set that has been fueling anti Jewish sentiments and violence over the years, from the Spanish Inquisition, to the pogroms and the Holocaust. And the Jews did do in Jesus...why were the ADL so upset with Mels movie? Truth hurt![]()
Like any Jew today has any remote affect on that too....get over it....
I mentioned it, only because it is still a somewhat "hot topic" in the south...the place you had said that there was little wonder "we" still make fun of the south, although I'm not sure who "we" are.Now I realize the reading skills of some are limited and since I am not clairvoyant I will refrain from reading more into the statement than was quoted and written. Having said that, can someone point out where reparations were mentioned?
Um...I think Rodney King got pretty nearly lynched a bit further west than Selma Alabama. I do not know if any of the officers involved in that were named Rosco or Buford. FWIW - I DESPISED that show.KC,
That was not my intent (to be honest I did not even see it in your post, I was referring to Dell) but be that as it may, I apologize for any insult that resulted.
Having said that, the comments that were made seem to fit the stereo typical image that people have of the old south. Right or wrong, it is what is believed by a decent number of people. The likes of Jessy Helms, David Duke and now this pin head do very little to change that image to the rest of the world.
While I am not questioning your respect for others or your up bringing, the fact still remains that there were no lynchings taking place in Los Angeles. Rosco P Coaltrain and Buford T Johnson are not depicted as "northern" cops but southern ones. I am not saying that they images are correct, I suspect they are far from it. How ever with the likes of those mentioned above, the image of the south is not being helped very much.

Thank you for showing your true anti-Semitic colors.
Who killed Jesus?
Pontius Pilate, with cooperation from some Jewish leaders in Jerusalem, killed Jesus. What killed Jesus? On the historical level one can point to the sinful social structures of first-century Palestine and the spiral of violence that led Pilate to view Jesus as a dangerous Jewish rebel. On the theological level one can say that Jesus' death on the cross was the result of human sinfulness.
