AA employees get 4% raises

Notice how the company didnt give it to ALL workgroups regardless if they have a joint contract? Just another ploy by them to get some lackluster contract sewed up as soon as possible. They know what they are doing!

Makes you really feel appreciated by the company if your happen to be in one of those groups who yet to have a joint contract.....Just keep driving the wedge between the groups!!!  But yes many fortunate few will once again enjoy that fine Holiday Feast while working the Holidays....Just feeling extra warm and fuzzy this holiday season....Usair/American mechanics, proud to be the lowest paid in the industry!!!

Your going to get it to when you sign, come on it is good for everyone.

What's holding us up from a pay raise, the iam and twu, didn't want to give up Union dues. The afl-cio didn't want to spend money on election, so now we have the association that is less then ideal and definitely not the idea of the members.

Just shows you nonunion is the way to go.

AA gives FAs the better money despite the fact they voted for arbitrators decision.

The APA will get less money because they want the arbitrators decision rather then what aa wanted to give them.

What did the unions do for us prior and during bk that protected pay and benefits, we actually did worse then non Union delta.

Wow...this is what being a leader is all about....thanks Doug !

Dear Colleagues,

As announced last week, under the new joint flight attendant contract, flight attendants will receive pay increases of approximately 10 percent beginning Jan. 1, 2015. Today, we also announced a company-wide program that will provide additional increases, and I wanted to take a moment to talk about what this means for the flight attendant team.

We are one year into merger integration, and we are performing very well. In fact, we are exceeding many expectations. In light of our successes in 2014, and to acknowledge employees for their role in achieving these results, we are implementing a company-wide program that increases the joint contract pay scales by four percentage points, subject to APFA consent. As a result, and if agreed to by the APFA, the new January 1 pay rates will be another four points higher than those announced last week. This means the flight attendant rates of pay will be 7 percent higher than those at Delta, and will mean an average salary increase for most flight attendants of approximately 14 percent with some steps of the scale being even higher. The new pay scales are attached.

This additional increase is a follow-through on a commitment we made at the time of the merger. That commitment was to compensate our team members in line with their network peers once our profits were in line with those peers. The Company is producing those profits today, and you all have earned this increase. With an industry leading agreement in place, we can now move forward as one team focused on the professionalism that has defined us over the years.

It is a privilege to work with all of you and I look forward to continuing the integration work ahead of us. Thank you for all you do every day and best wishes for happy holidays.

In an unprecedented move, American management has announced a wage increase today for all employees with Joint Collective Bargaining Agreements in place as well as all non-represented employees below Director level at American Airlines. This means the flight attendant rates of pay will be 7 percent higher than those at Delta (8% at top of scale). First year Flight Attendants scheduled to make $23.28 beginning January 1, 2015, will now make $24.18. Flight Attendant top of scale rates will rise by $2.06. That brings the scheduled wages in the new JCBA on January 1, 2015 from $53.52 to $55.58.

A revised wage chart included in a letter from VP Flight Service Hector Adler to Flight Attendants has been uploaded to apfa.org.

In light of this new development, APFA President Laura Glading has called for an Executive Committee teleconference later today in order to approve and incorporate the new wages into our JCBA.

ABOUT APFA: The Association of Professional Flight Attendants, founded in 1977, represents the more than 24,000 active flight attendants at American Airlines. In November 2011, American’s parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Throughout the bankruptcy trial, APFA President Laura Glading served on the Unsecured Creditors’ Committee where she advocated for the American Airlines Flight Attendants. In February 2013, American and US Airways announced their intention to combine the carriers and on December 9, 2013, AA exited bankruptcy and the merger was final. Achieving a merger inside bankruptcy is unprecedented in the industry and would not have occurred without the efforts of American’s labor unions, particularly APFA.

“For groups who have not yet reached ratified joint contracts, they will now see larger increases when those joint ratified contracts are achieved,” he [Parker] said.

We'll see.

A true leader would give every workgroup the 4% regardless if you have a joint contract or not. Everyone one of the unions agreed to this merger which has made this company very profitable. So why the favoritism? Why the conditions? Why not give 3% to every work group and the extra 1% when you sign a joint agreement?

Parker could give the mechanics Delta plus 7% right now, yes ,all of them, IAM and TWU.
What's the "association" going to say, "no wait, we're still getting ready for joint negotiations"...

Give the money right now, and when we finally decide who the union is, the rest can be negotiated later.

Nothing stopping Parker from giving it to the mechanics now, nothing.
It was a nice jesture for Parker to give the added raise to everyone else, he should go all in and give it to rest of us, now.

Curiously, not a peep out of the TWU, quiet as a church mouse.
Good job guys, keep up the good work?

You would think the TWU would be fighting for this raise so they could increase union dues!

The "Association" continues to cause havoc and it's still not our representing body....Oh what the future may hold.

What does the NMB have to do with an airline?
I hope you are joking.

NMB Overview

The National Mediation Board (NMB), established by the 1934 amendments to the Railway Labor Act of 1926, is an independent U.S. Federal-government agency that facilitates labor-management relations within the nations railroad and airline industries. Pursuant to the Railway Labor Act, NMB programs provide dispute-resolution processes to effectively meet its statutory objectives: avoiding interruption to commerce or to the operation of any carrier; forbidding any limitation upon freedom of association among employees; providing for the prompt and orderly settlement of all disputes concerning rates of pay, rules, or working conditions; and providing for the prompt and orderly settlement of all disputes growing out of grievances related to the implementation and management of collective bargaining agreements.

"When we sign"....one, two , three years down the road?  Been kicked when down by this company many time over the years even though I always gave 100%...but this is the biggest insult of all....just saying.....at least I now know where I stand in the opinion of the CEO of this company....

What is next....only two vacation passes until you have a joint contract, or no Holiday Meal for you since your group does not have a contract......
