Aircraft maint issues

It’s never happened to me either by aa management but a Boeing 777 tech rep said I should of just signed off the number 1 generator controll unit. Had a internal faul but because it didn’t show active. I handed him the log book and told him to sign and I would call the faa after he did. He gave me back the book walked off the airplane. Boeing sent him somewhere else after that happened and I changed the gcu
Competent professional mechanics don’t get messed with.

We all know the type of mechanic that is messed with, and none of them would pass probation if management asked the simple question of their peers.

Do you think this mechanic deserves to work with you for the next 30 years making your same pay?

I only remain frustrated, I understand how you guys feel, the problem is we as mechanics are experiencing the same thing. One union over another is not a magic bullet when management only will give x number of pay and benefits.

Unfortunately at the 'New AA' we have to deal with two unions. How frustrating do you think that is!

I'm curious to see if we get any type of response out of the IAM over the "CBS This Morning" report.

If the mechanics in the report are all TWU members, probably not much.

I`m betting the IAM stays as quiet as a church mouse.

I am about as far as socialism as you can get, if you can't get people to come to the union meetings , because no one cares until it is contract time, it's hard to get a motion passed, if the local does not want to change it. It's like people in congress and the Senate that are there for 30 years or more. AMFA and Seham are joined at hip, and they don't want to separate. To tell you the truth I will glad when we finally get a contract and move on, because at the rate we are going I will only have this contract, plus one more, then I will retire, and not care anymore.

You are a self -admitted Socialist that disrespects the founding of the United Staes?
This is dumb.

I assume you are being sarcastic, when you have people in power forever, and no one can unseat them, now it is starting to happen, not much changes. Our Union we finally got some hardheaded people out, so maybe we will get something done, or maybe not, but it's a start.

Swampy if you look at my post we should have never entered section 6, and I have said that on here many times. AMFA is falling into the same trap as they did at Northwest. You want what you feel you deserve, as anyone does. But are you going to go 8 years or more to achieve that, because you claim pennies on the dollar. So you get a non achievable situation, an if you do that as a Union you failed, plain and simple. It doesn't matter if you are Teamsters, AMFA, IAM , or TWU, or American Airlines Mechanics Association, you utterly failed your membership. So we are done arguing on American's Backyard, sorry you disagree, and you and your Lieutenants try to make me look bad.
You make yourself look bad driver. You get on here and whine about everything and you do it all alone with no one else (except for weez and GVP) supporting you from SWA.
Yes I am prepared to go 8 years, like I said before, whatever it takes.
I did not fail the membership. The co. has failed their employees of all the groups during these rounds of nego's.
I see you don't argue the biggest content of my post because you can't. The exact same thing happened at UAL when AMFA took over from the IAM, it was the existing IAM language that AMFA inherited that started all the jobs going away and layoffs, but many of folks tried to put that blame on AMFA.

I don't expect one. But it would be nice if they did.
Here's our TWU F/A's response to the CBS story and full support for our mechanics.

It will speak volumes if they stay quiet, more so than the no show on the info picketing

Where have you been for the last 50 years?
Funny how all the other industrial unions, all of them, including the TWU and IAM big time, use to always say "AMFA is not a union, they are just an association." Then they not only form one, but they force it onto the members after telling them they will vote rather to be in or out of the association. Amazing...

I praise the TWU for sending the letter directly to the top. Our TWU F/A's did the same at SWA and I praise and thank them for doing so.

One moment swamt praises the TWU (10 AM)

The next moment he bashes the TWU (10:30 AM)

After admitting you are as close to a socialist as one becomes, the fact then remains that the industrial unions are, along with the AFL-CIO.
This has brought on a political fact that many industrial union members are or can be hypocritical. Taking advantage of constitutional privileges and vote against them. Then the insistence that mechanics must remain in this arraignment of industrial unionism to protect the non-mechanic membership in contractual negotiations.

The only industrial union I have been in, is the Teamsters Airline division, never any other industrial union, that in my mind had better results negotiating contracts then AMFA. All our contracts had only mechanics. As far as political parties, I tend to vote republican, so I don't get where you think I am a socialist. Most Union members only care about the union during contract time, at least I go to my local meetings.
