American Maintenance Stations

The TWU and AA were handing them out for free! Ever heard of the Junior Mechanic Upgrade Program? Another farce.

What are you talking about. You either have an A&P or you don't. Fake? Maybe you need to read the FAR's. Some people may be terrible mechanics but if they passed the exams both written and oral and obtained their Licenses, they have been authorized by the FAA to Maintain Aircraft, Engines etc. It's black and white. If they are asked to show their license by the FAA and don't have on their person I'm pretty sure they are in a lot of trouble.

All this talk about Jett Pro and fake licenses, reminds me of this:

and this:

and how all this can directly affect others:

You finally stated the facts about NWA. Full pay to the last day got them a 25% pay cut after. Lost all but two stations to outsourcing. So what happened to all those NWA AMTs? Did they all get jobs making the same at WN? No. That's what the BLS report states.

Maybe they didnt, but did they end up worse off than we did? Doubtful, we stayed on the Titanic and are paying the price. Where did all those AMTs end up? Probably most ended up the same as the 5000 that are no longer with us at AA and where the 5000 that will dissapear between the BK filing and 2017 will end up. Gone, retired or left the industry or profession never to return.

At AA we never took a 25% pay cut, lost our pension, or had all but two stations outsourced.

Pay isnt just the hourly wage and yes we did take a 25% paycut, vacation, Holidays and Sick time are all part of pay,in real terms we took much much more than 25% and our suffering has been extended to 2018, possibly longer. They no doubt suffered, but most likely have recovered more than we have.

In fact you and I have been making more money than NW for the last nine years up until the BK, kept pension credit, and kept over 25 maintenance stations plus two bases open until now.

Really? How do you figure that? From 2003 to 2005 NWA mechanics earned at least 25% more than we did, then they took massive cuts that brought them down to us, then they went to Delta where since 2010 they make more than us. So they took their hit for five years vs our 15 year hit. (2003 through 2018)

It doesn't matter now anyway. The entire industry got screwed and we did too albeit much less than all others. The question that must be answered is how is the Peterson Team going to move us forward?

For the last ten years we have given up a week of vacation and only get 5 sick days per year, we only get five Holidays at half pay extra if we are forced to work them and everyone on the line now is automatically working every holiday. We will see our headcount go from 18100 to 6325. We did better?

Contract maintenance is changing a 757 fuel flow governor today in HNL today. They have run qualified and RII mechanics on hand. That used to be a field trip for AA mechanics. Island boys are getting pretty sharp!

LAX AMT

Now that the TWU has closed the line stations there will be lots more work being done by contract maint. Maybe the newly elected title I officer of 591 can file a grievance since he did not get a chance to go. (wink wink) lol

The only thing the TWU is going to do is say THEY CAN DO THAT Brother.
