I Love this line, sounds like USAirways as well.....

"We will recreate ATA as a formidable, low-cost carrier," ATA founder and chief executive George Mikelsons said Tuesday.

I heard tonight that ATA also lost about half of its military charter business to Ryan International (the Wichita, KS company, not the Irish airline).

Does Ryan have the equipment to go long haul or international? That’s where ATA is making money.

Ryan is ETOPS approved with the 757 and might get some DC10's up and running again. Ryan's old 10's went away about a year ago and were exclusively doing MAC charters....with the 757 being ETOPS approved now, the likely replacement for the former 10's may be the 767. Just a guess, but it could be part of the plan.
