Your right i just called the court and they said its still open until it gets dismissed damn that sucks im going to call the recruiter and ask him but on the paper work i filled out it doesnt mention anything about open cases it just asks if ive ever been convicted of anything from the list. I just called the recruiter and he said that just be honest with the background investigator and i shouldnt have a problem

I went to the interview session and i recieved a conditional offer of emplyment and im very happy. I have to go back in two weeks to do my physical strength test.

That's the usual formality. They will give you an offer sheet first. They will then have your paperwork that you have given them, so the process can start.

But it sounds like there running your background now. Do you have a confirmed date for your physical?
If so, that's a good sign. It's a strength test; a hearing test, and a drug screen. Once you pass them, and IF your background is clean, then they will give you a confirmed date to come to class. Most likely your class will start on a Monday, but they will give you a call (or letter or e-mail) telling to come to orientation the Friday before.

I've seen some of the 2nd week trainees coming thru so far.

PM me if you have any questions.

My physical test is scheduled on feb 12,2009 at 3:00 pm at ewr. Can you tell me whats goes on at the physical test and i was also curious when it comes to the 5 week training period are they serious with the 90% or better or they kick you out of the class and do they really expect you to know 195 airport codes or you fail. Do they give you a second chance if you fail because i got the list of codes and so far i have been studying and i do know the united states so far to some extent and i look at the mexico codes and theres some names on there i couldnt pernounce.

I know 300+ Airport Codes myself...it's easy ;)

I don't work for the airline I am just a passenger and I probably could figure out 195 Codes myself. BTW are those IATA or ICAO codes?

You HAVE to know the city codes. That's a given.

Your first week is pretty much standard classroom stuff. City codes; bag tag recognition; aircraft identification numbers; GSE safety. You'll get a lot of books. (a briefcase full....lol!) The types of GSE and aircraft. You have to know the CO aircraft ID. That's pretty much the first week. The city codes, you will pick up in no time. Don't stress yourself over that. Most people fail the Aircraft ID. It is must you get the aircraft ID right, so if and when you are ever on the ramp, you will know what type of AC you are dealing; how much equipment to stage; what's coming off; and with and where to stop it on the "J" line.

There is a mid-term test at the end of first week. 90% pass. If you fail, you can take it again before you get to go on the ramp. If you fail it a second time, bye-bye. If you pass the mid-term, you get to actually go on the ramp and sling some bags (you'll mainly be in the bin.) You won't have your SIDA yet, so you will be escorted by a lead on the ramp. You can't drive any GSE either. You will learn to wing-walk (so you won't get killed out there); reading the FIDS correctly; using proper hand signals; you will learn the computer ramp codes on pulling uploads; DG manifests; reading a load plan; how to call in a load; using a scanner (if a lead or agent will show you); and working Express (either Q200/400 - prop safety - & EMB 135/145 RJ's).

After you experience the ramp, you will spend one more week in the classroom taking the DG course; the SIDA course; and things you learned on the ramp. Then you will take a final exam. One Shot. 90% or better or see ya! You will have ordered your uniforms on day two (I think) so you will have them if and when you graduate. Uniforms are kind of delayed right now because everyone is ordering from their 2009 allowance. So you will get them in due time.

It's a lot, but it goes by fast. I don't know if "Rotation Week" is on week 4 or 5. (they added another week) So it's the usual stuff. You WILL be actually working then, IE: driving GSE and such. I think the training dept. will show you more about the scanner and if you want to learn how to push.

Hope this helps you out.
