Delta To Issue Major Widebody RFP For 747/767 Replacements

long live the 757.... glad to see that DL will be operating them for the better part of another decade. the 321 and 739 just don't compete with the 757

but they are getting 45 of the 321s       but the 18 787-8 wont even be on dl until 2020  unless they change it to another aircraft type

There is nothing inherent in the aircraft that makes any seat uncomfortable. The seats in the rear of most US aircraft have less pitch and the middle seat is the middle seat.

and yes robbed, the 787s if they come at all are slated for years down the road.

the 321 is a decent domestic aircraft... it just doesn't have the performance to do high performance operations or the range to do 3500 plus mile flights with a full passenger load.

Got 4 330s coming this year
4(?) next year
then 350s show up
then 339s show up in 2019
then 787s show up in 2020

not a bad order book.

thanks dawg  yes that's not a bad order book.    the 330s this yr  are they the heavier MTOW   or are they the 300 series
they are the heavy(242t) MTOW A330-300s with CF6 engines.

Do you have anything firm on the extra 333? I have seen people say that but haven't seen anything concrete

I guess we'll know by the end of the year if was true, right?
Yeah guess so.

I think it would make it easier to get two routes out of the fleet (gives them a spare) if true.

but correct me if I'm wrong but its 4 this year, 3(16) next and 3(17) next right? In 2017 we would get the 3 333s and then the first few 359s.

in the annual report it still shows 4 each for 2015 and 16 but there have been multiple reports that DL was able to move up one of the 333s. It should be only 2 333s in 2017 either way.

DL attempted to move up 739 and 321 deliveries to increase domestic growth but had little success.

based on the current NRT hub structure, DTW-NRT needs 3 aircraft. MSP and LAX to NRT can be done with 2.
